Great for teething babies

mckayleesmom wrote: Today we are eating leftover pizza for breakfast (bad mommy,,,I know), I gave Mckaylee a Papa Johns breadstick and Russell crawled over and snatched it off her plate......so I got to thinking.....they are pretty tuff frozen....I put him in his highchair next to me and gave him 1 that wasn't warmed up.........THEY ARE MAGIC....he hasn't made a peep in an hour. thumb.gif

kimberley replied: thumb.gif so true! when the boys were little and teething, i used to freeze bagels and let them gnaw on them. once it started to thaw, i'd get another. just cut them in quarters. ahhh the miracle of frozen bread and wash cloths lol.

mckayleesmom replied: oooh....I will have to get some frozen bagles........I haven't done waffles yet because he doesn't have any teeth yet and those tend to break off faster.......but I will try bagles.

amynicole21 replied: Hmmmm.... genius! tongue.gif Will have to investigate wink.gif

~Roo'sMama~ replied: That's a good tip I'll have to remember that! thumb.gif
Question about frozen washcloths though - I tried that the other day when Andrew was being really fussy and trying to chew on everything, and it froze really hard so I didn't want to give it to him. Would it have been ok or is there a good amount of time to have it in the freezer for?

kimberley replied: i used baby wash cloths (they are softer) and just got it wet through.. not soaked and put in a ziplock and left them in the freezer. amount of time didn't make a difference in texture for us. i just found they thawed too fast and moved to bagels lol. and Jade was much older when she was teething and often just gnawed on day old pizza crust laugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I have never tried the frozen washcloth thing.....I have givin him a wet washcloth ran under cold water......

Another awsome tip if your child takes a Binky......go buy one of those ones that you put medicine in......put water in the part that holds the liquid.....Don't snap it closed....put it in your freezer until the water freezes....then take it out and run it under a little water really fast to get the melting process going and then close it and give it to the baby.....the ice melts as they are sucking and soothes their gums. That was the only time Mckaylee would take a binky
