mammag replied: Ooh, those things are disgusting. MIL came over one time after having walked at the park and said she felt like she had a bump on her head. She had me look and sure enough, it was a tick. I ended up finding three in her head. I've never been so grossed out in my life. Luckily dh was there to get them out. I don't think I could have stomached it.

My2Beauties replied: I'm glad you found it because OMG Brianne I have a bad tick story. When I was little my dad hauled water in Shepherdsville with my grandpa and I stayed out there most days with my step-grandma. They lived in the country and I would always play underneath this big tree in their yard. Well I had long hair down to my butt too. A tick got in my head and that stupid thing was there for a few days before it was found, I got soooooooooooo siclk. I slept 20 hours a day, every thing I ate or drank I puked it right back up, I got so dehydrated I couldn't throw up anymore, just gag. I couldnt' ride in the car I had to take a bucket everywhere I went, I was dizzy all the time and just extremely ill. I thought I was drying or something, I mean my parents were so scared no one could figure out what was wrong with me, until they found that stupid tick! The day after that thing came out of my head, I was 100% better. I was so lucky I didn't get Lyme Disease or something! Shew be careful if you have those things in your yard girl!

5littleladies replied: Ugh! I hate ticks! Hate hate hate, hate hate hate, Loathe entirely!!!
Last summer Meg got a tick buried in her hair-We didn't find it for a few days and it was rather large by then. My brilliant dh decided in order to prevent the risk of infection he should touch this tick (on Meg's head mind you) with a blown out match to make it let go!! I told him no way but he was going to do it anyways and he told me to make sure Meg didn't see. Of course she did and she saw the lighted match and started crying and saying "Is Papa going to fire my hair??" Poor girl. I told dh to put the match away and he got a tweezers and the tick came right off with a big ol' chunk of Meg's scalp. I hope we don't have to deal with any this summer.
