I'm currently working as the "infant teacher" at a child development program in a local rehabilitation hospital -- it's essentially a daycare for the employees, but we can take children with disabilities as well.
I'll be beginning volunteer work at UK Children's Hospital this summer working one on one with a child life specialist there and then hopefullly *fingers crossed* I will get a child life internship within the next year (they are usually 12-16 unpaid 40 hour weeks so I have to save up some money first).
My goal is to work either at a children's hospital (I would LOVE to work at St. Jude!) as a Certified Child Life Specialist
And since I always get asked what exactly that is --
Child Life Council
This is a wonderful site that explains it all
MommyToAshley replied: Congratulations!!! What a terrific accomplishment!! You should be very proud of yourself.
stella6979 replied: Congratulations! It's takes a special kind of person to work at St. Jude's and I'm sure they'd love to have you. Best of luck to you on this new chapter.

I know I never thought I was going to finish either. It took me 10 years and I graduated 6 months pg with Kylie.
