Gwyneth Paltrow had her baby - Apple Blythe Alison Martin
juliajaj wrote: I read that Gwyneth Paltrow had her baby & named it Apple Blythe Alison Martin. I can see Blythe, since that's her mom's name & Alison is very pretty too, but what's with Apple?!? I hate to be judgmental, but has anyone else heard of that for a 1st name &/or why that's the baby's 1st name.
The baby was 9 lbs. 11 oz. Ugh! That's one big baby, especially since Gwyneth is so slender. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for another baby that's in the 6-7 lb. range (Olivia was 6 lbs. 15 oz.).
amynicole21 replied: I've been talking the name over with my friends, and while it sounded VERY weird to me at first, I guess it's starting to grow on me or something. Not that I would EVER name my child Apple, but it is sort of cute in a way. Except for the fact that she will forever be called Apple Martini None of my friends agree with me, though...
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Wow that is different! But I guess no different then what Demi Moore named her children Rumour, Scout, and what was the last one I can never rememeber. Or how about naming your child Piper. One Canadian designer Candace Olsen named her baby daughter Piper.
kimberley replied: a girl from my august '03 board named her daughter Piper. i think it is cute. not something i would name my daughter but it suits her.
I heard that over the weekend. big baby! Apple is just a retarded name for a child IMHO. i know some parents want to be original and all but think of the years of ridicule and teasing their poor child will have to go through.
alice&arik replied: I thought it was really stupid at first, but then I thought, it IS cute! Like amynicole said. I thought it would be cool to name a baby that. But not with my last name. It would be stupid. I just don't get why people name their kids with so many names. I think a 1st, middle and Last is enough.
A&A'smommy replied: That is SO funny! And omg what a BIG baby! Congratulations to her!
ediep replied: thats funny, I heared about the this morning on the radio. I don't thinkI would ever name a child apple or any food items for that matter.
CJ'smom......I think that Demi Moores third child is Taloolabelle (I'm pretty sure that I spelled it wrong, but thats the way it sounds)
Kaitlin'smom replied: oh my big baby, 4 names? ok I can handle that but apple? why?
paradisemommy replied: interesting...
Gwyneth and Chris reveal Apple roots
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their daughter Apple after his new agent's little girl.
Apple Blythe Alison Martin, born in London on Friday, shares her first name with the daughter of Martin's North American booking agent, Marty Diamond, who gave the idea his approval.
Blythe and Alice are the names of the mothers of Paltrow, and Martin respectively.
chloe&tysmommy replied: *ouch* 9 lbs 11oz. YIKES!!!! LOL That is a huge baby!!! This is my first time hearing about her- I agree apple is a pretty different name
Boys r us replied: I would not ever name my child that..but it is kind of cute..in it's own unique way! I mean there are worse names...Peekaboo Street?!?! who would name their kid Peekaboo...?
coasterqueen replied: Yeah, I can't understand why someone would name their child Apple, but so be it right? LOL. Can't be any worse than my SIL who named her boy Zephyr Grey and gave him a hyphenated last name. We are trying to figure out what to call him because we all want to chuckle saying his name.
MyGirls replied: I do not like Apple but I suppose if she grows up with fellow "kids of celebs" she won't be the only one in school with a weird name (wasn't there a celeb who recently named their son Audio Science? YIKES. And yes, Tallulah is the Moore/Willis daughter- it reminds me of the duck in those Maisy books, LOL). Anyway, Apple IS indeed strange. Alison is Chris' mom's name so the two middle names are nice tributes- perhaps baby will go by one of those!
My2Beauties replied: Weird name...but most Hollywood people come up with weird names for their kids!
