Had a scare today... - ended up getting Ashley's check up early

It was hard in middle (looked like a big blister) and and red around it (at least the size of a quarter). She said she didn't bump anything or pinch it on anything, and she didn't see any bugs up there. One of the Moms that was there told me her daughter was bit by a brown recluse spider at this same McD about six months ago and it looked similar. I was close to our ped's office so I stopped in to get it checked since it was getting bigger. The ped looked at it, and then waited 15 minutes or so and checked it again. It seemed to be getting better. She said it did look like a bug bite of some sort but didn't think it was a poisonous spider. We just have to keep an eye on it.

Anyways, since we are self pay, I asked her if she could fit Ashley's four year visit in so we wouldn't have to pay two office visits this month. She was nice and squeezed us in. Everything was fine, they even checked her hearing and vision. She said she was impressed how advanced Ashley was both physically and academically. She said she was especially impressed with her speech and language skills. . (I never really thought of Ashley to be advanced in her physical/motor skills ) Ashley has slimmed down a little. She's only in the 75%ile for weight and the 95%ile for height.

Not a fun afternoon, but at least we have her check-up out of the way.

Kaitlin'smom replied: eeekkk I am guessing you asked her if she saw any bug around her? Oh which McD casue I wont go there. Poor thing hope it feels better soon. Glad she was nice to squeese the check up in. Oh what Doc did you end up picking? You still going to the same place?

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Eeek! That must have been scary. I hate spiders. I wonder if it was the same one that had bit that other little girl - you'd think that they would close off the play area for a couple days and Raid it or something.
