Had a trip to the hospital.... - Possible TMI and a little long...sorry

MyLuvBugs wrote: So, I was just posting away this morning and checking my email, and noticed it was gettin' to be almost 10:30 here, so I thought I'd get up and go get dressed for the day (yes I was still in my jammies! rolleyes.gif ).....So, I stand up and there is a trickle down my leg and a tennis ball wet-spot on my night shirt in the southern region (KWIM)...... unsure.gif

So, I think "Ummmm. Ok? Maybe it was just pee and I didn't realize it blink.gif " So I go pee but everything is still a little gushy, so I call the clinic and they say go to the hospital to get checked out. sad.gif rolleyes.gif And that starts the panic mode in me.....Gotta get Lorelei ready, Gotta get dressed and hair out of my face, gotta call DH at work, gotta call the doula....blah blah blah blahblah.gif blahblah.gif blahblah.gif

FINALLY....Dh comes home and we get to the hospital with Lorelei b/c everyone else is at work or too far away. rolleyes.gif Get all hooked up, adn apparently I'm having contractions steadily that I just don't feel. Who knew!?!? wacko.gif So, they run the STrep B and FfN test (yet again rolleyes.gif ) and monitor us for a couple hours. Luckily!!! I just peed and my water is still in tact!! blush.gif rolleyes.gif Talk about embarassing though blush.gif . I didn't even feel like I had to pee? So weird! But my waters didn't break naturally the last time so i really don't know what it would feel like to have them just break on their own. LOL biggrin.gif

However, with the steady contractions she checked me out and said I wasn't dialated, but that I'm alredy 80% effaced blink.gif HOLY HECKLES BATMAN!!!! blink.gif So, I'm to take it easy the next couple days and to let them know immediately if I start feeling these contractions. (My philosophy is...If I can't feel them then they aren't "real". LOL laugh.gif)

But Now after this adrenaline rush, I'm exhausted. I'll post more later after a nap.

PrairieMom replied: woah! hang on to that baby! laugh.gif I hope your contractions lessen up. I had them steady for a week before I finally delivered the Girl. rolleyes.gif

CantWait replied: WOW I hope the only good thing about this is that it's going to be a sign of easy labor. Keep that baby in there and take it easy.

luvmykids replied:

Even though it wasn't your water, thats exactly what I thought when it was, so it wasn't silly to think it could have been. I thought I just peed in my pants, it wasn't for another 45 minutes or so that I realized I was doing it again rolling_smile.gif

I think Lexi is going to be here pretty soon, hope you can take it easy until then and I better be getting a phone call! laugh.gif

ashtonsmama replied: Wow. What a day! Glad it all worked out. Take it easy, mama!

That's amazing! And you're only 33 weeks?!? Jeez. Keep that little girl a cookin'!

Boys r us replied: Wow!! That was scary. I'm SOO glad everything is okay..yowzers thoough that you're 80% effaced, Iguess those contractions are doing something!

I hope DH didn't tell anybody at work that your water broke..cuz it would be kind of hard to explain that it didn't really, without divulging that you peed yourself!! tongue.gif

Don't feel bad though..it happens to the best of us in the big belly club!! hug.gif hug.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
You will definately be getting a phone call. I put your number in my purse before rushing out the door this morning. smile.gif Just in case. LOL smile.gif I just need her to stay in there 4 more weeks before "term" at 37 wks. But if she keeps this junk up dry.gif......
I told the nurse today that I'm working on getting to know all the staff there in L&D. laugh.gif

MyLuvBugs replied:
I'm not really sure what he told his manager, but whatever he told him, he got the rest of today and tomorrow off. biggrin.gif But yeah...I'm not really thrilled with telling people I peed myself, but oh well rolleyes.gif blush.gif

amynicole21 replied: Whoa! Glad it was just a false alarm. Stay put for a few more weeks, baby!! hug.gif

KingMom replied: Glad it was a false alarm, she needs to stay in there for now wink.gif

Don't be embarassed, I've known many people to have this happen.

ZandersMama replied: keep your legs crossed and keep her in there! hug.gif glad everything is okee!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh Erika, please take it easy sweetie! Little girl still needs more time in there...as you know. I'm glad it was a false alarm, although I'm sure quite overwhelming for you! Lots of "stay in there" vibes coming your way!! hug.gif

MyLuvBugs replied: Overwhelmed is an understatement for how I felt this morning. rolleyes.gif You should have seen the monitor for my heart rate. WOW! And my BP was 120 over 82! Normal for me is 110 over 60 (I have a low BP blush.gif ). I'm better now, but the 80% effacement scares me a little still. Just need to make it 2 more weeks till my next appointment, then one week at a time.

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It really means a lot. hug.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Glad it was just a false alarm. And, don't be embarrassed, I am sure that happens to A LOT of people. I think it is a good thing it happened, otherwise you wouldn't have known about the contractions and that you are 80% effaced.... now you know that you need to take it easy for a few weeks.

Sending some ~~~Stay Put For Now~~~ baby vibes your way.

Mommy2Isabella replied: wow~ glad it was a false alarm. Sounds like our little girls are giving us both trouble. Though I think the people in L&D here already know me, from my false labor and then the one time it would have been real labor, they stopped it ... PUNKS!

Just kidding, but yes, little girl needs to stay in there a bit longer. I know how you feel though. I am like JUST GET IT OUT. I am 2 days I think from being "full term" so I am SO GLAD that I have made it this far smile.gif

jcc64 replied: Glad it was just a false alarm. Keep that baby in there. Maybe a good time to slow down and chill out- put your feet up and let everyone else do the running around.
