Had to take Megan to the Urgent Care last night
coasterqueen wrote: She had an accident at the IL State Fair yesterday. Kylie and her were racing at the playground and they collided and then Megan collided with a HUGE wooden pole. So she sliced her head open right around the eyelid/brow area. She was there with the sitter and so the sitter took her to first aid for ice and to get the bleeding to stop. They butterfly bandaged it and she brought her home to me and then I took her in. It didn't look like it needed stitches but since it was on the eye socket area I wanted it looked at. The eye socket area (bones) was fine, no concussion, nothing, but since it was cut pretty good and bleeding wouldn't stop they super glued the wound and butterfly bandaged it again. She was laughing about the super glue.
Today it looks worse as her whole left side of her face is completely swollen, black eye and cheek, a few small cuts on her face and then the big bandage up over the top of her eye.
Poor kid is so accident prone. Glad we didn't need to have stitches, though, or anything worse.
mom21kid2dogs replied: That super glue is a kick. One of the little sibs on O'd B Ball team slid on stones in the parking lot and got a cut on her forehead and they super glued her together, too. Poor Megan! Did she have a headache this morning at all? Hope she heals fast!
coasterqueen replied: No, she didn't say she did. They told me certain signs to watch out for and take her in immediately if she did - headache was one of them. She said her eye just felt weird and that was because the whole area was SO swollen that it wasn't even funny.
A&A'smommy replied: YIKES poor girl!!!! I'm glad she didn't need stitches that probably wouldn't have been as funny as the super glue
kit_kats_mom replied: I don't even know if they still do stitches anymore. Rocky tossed his head into Kats head which then bonked into the fish tank. she had a gash on the corner of her eye. Looked way worse than it was but they just glued her too. Doc said that she would have had a couple of stitches but that they just glue them up now. LOL
Sorry that happened.
bluebear replied: They still give stitches but usually when the child is young they will glue it.
coasterqueen replied: Yeah, not sure if they stitch still or not. I just know my poor baby looks worse every day that passes -- her whole entire left side of her face is so black and blue.
MommyToAshley replied: Poor girl, I hope she heals quickly.
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Poor Megan, hope she heals quickly!
coasterqueen replied: Yeah, so if we get to get together on Saturday and you see her....don't think we beat her. I promise we didn't. Hey, maybe Megan can even show us the pole she rammed into while we are out there.
cameragirl21 replied: Glad she is ok...that sounds like something I would do, I'm the world's biggest klutz.
jcc64 replied: Yikes, glad she's ok, Karen. Any injury on the face always looks so bad, doesn't it?? We've never done the super glue thing. Ds' face injuries always seemed to be in the spots where the glue doesn't work/isn't strong enough.
