Boys r us wrote: watched any good movies lately? either in the theaters or on PPV or rentals?
jen replied: We just watched Runaway Jury, it was great!!! also the Life of David Gale, that was good! and The Missing was good too!
Boys r us replied: We rented School of Rock the other night, it was horrible in my opinion! I was so disappointed b/c Jack Black is usually so funny!
We also watch The boss's Daughter on PPV that was pretty funny, light hearted comedy.
We watched Lost in Translation on PPV...OMG..THAT MOVIE PUT ME TO SLEEP! I can't even begin to fathom HOW it got so many awards!
pinka_star replied: DH and I rented "Gothika" the other night. Holy poo, scary movie!!! DH even JUMPED, and he never jumps or gets scared over movies. I got scared too, but couldn't stop laughing over DH getting scared. He literally jumped and screamed, pretty funny!!
Boys r us replied: I'm going to rent Gothica!! We LOVE scary movies..here lately all of the scary movies we've seen have been just plain dumb..but I've heard several good things about Gothica!
coasterqueen replied: I wish I had the time and energy to watch one We don't go to movies because no time and no one usually to watch Kylie. Don't rent anymore because by 8 pm we are both too tired to watch a movie, lol.
Jamison'smama replied: Really? I really liked that movie. Maybe I was in just the right mood to watch it because movies often put me to sleep but not this one. It was the one I was going to put as my answer
pinka_star replied: I think you'll really love it. I thought it was good!!! I love scary movies, and this one was seriously SCARY. It was pretty good, and it kept DH and I guessing. Let me know what ya think of it when you watch it!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Okay, this movie is silly, but it was soooo good! Something's Gotta Give. I'm even thinking of buying it I liked it so much. We saw it on our anniversary.
We are taking Maddie to see Home on the Range Sunday.
aspenblue1 replied: We just watched Gothica it was good.
A&A'smommy replied: The passion of the christ, was the last one. UHHHH Good boy (rented) and Second hand lions (also rented) it has the little boy from the sixth sense, and he was forest jr lol in forest gump. Second hand lions was a really sweet and funny movie and i believe it is alright for children (I was still watch ahead to make sure).
jcc64 replied: OMG, I thought "School of Rock" was hilarious. We bought it, and my kids have probably watched it 10 times already. Of course, it doesn't hurt that I'm married to and surrounded by wannabe rock stars, or that all those classic rock tunes were MY favorites growing up, but I just loved that movie. If anybody is into documentaries, I highly reccommend "Spellbound". Very poignant and entertaining.
kit_kats_mom replied: We have netflix and we recently watched Radio which was way better than I expected. Our other recent rentals: Door to door-3 stars out of 5 Far from heaven 3 stars Personal velocity 3 stars. DH wouldn't watch it though american splendor 3.5 stars...kinda depressing though
megsmommie replied: A few weeks ago we went and saw Starsky & Hutch, it was ok. I laughed, my 9 year old didn't catch most of the adult humor. Last night we watched Springtime with Roo, and Brother Bear, both great family movies.
juliajaj replied: DH & I went to see Cold Mountain a couple of months ago, we both gave it thumbs up.
Our local library rents movies for a $1/week, so this is were we rent our movies (just my little plug for the public library system). Here are a few that we've watched:
Open Range - I'd give it 3 stars Under the Tuscan Sun - 2 stars, slightly disappointing since I read the book Band of Brothers - incredible war movie, a must see Barbershop 1 - loved it Lord of the Rings series - DH loved them, I was busy sorting thru paperwork at the same time, so it was harder for me to follow Sex & the City (Season 5) - not a movie, but I rented the DVD at our library & thought it was really good. Pirates of the Caribbean - 2 stars
Elle replied: Let's see... I saw The Passion Of The Christ last Saturday night... And I didn't like it much. Too violent for my taste. Yesterday we rented Finding Nemo to watch with the kids, it was hilarious! It has some jokes that only grown ups can understand, so it was not just a "kiddie movie" to me.
Boys r us replied: We watched Radio, it was very good!
pinka_star replied: We rented that last night and it was SO funny. I must own it! I love Jack Black, such a funny guy.
paradisemommy replied: movies?? what's that? we don't have time to watch movies around here either..we've gone to one movie since taven was born and that was pirates of the carribean..before that it was monsters, inc..how depressing am i? lol
