Having babies !! - what age to have your last?
Bee_Kay wrote: I am interested about something.
I am 33 and I have a 14 year old and a 13 year old.
My two best friends are 1 yr older than me, they just turned 35.
one friend has a 15 yr old, a 10 yr old, and a 3 yr old
the other has a 15 yr old, a 10 yr old, a 2 yr old and she is PG (due in April)!
When Ty graduates I will be 39. When my one friends baby graduates she will be 53! I just giggle at her and tease her how she'll be in a wheelchair at his/her graduation
How old are/were you when you stopped/want to stop having children??
I went through some terrible baby blues a few years ago, but I've gotten over and I am glad that we didn't have any more children.
C&K*s Mommie replied: We had Kellie when I was 26. And that (according to Chris) is it. I am right there with you on the baby blues, funny thing I want to work in an OB/GYN office with PG women! Why do I wish to torture myself and Chris with that, I do not know.
luvbug00 replied: I want one more Soon . I'll be 38 when she's 18 or so when Mya graduates high school I think...
mom21kid2dogs replied: After 17 years of unexplained infertility we had our daughter when I was 41~the result of an unexplained pregnancy . Not everyone gets to decide these things for themselves . Doesn't bother me in the least that I'll be 59 when she graduates from high school~I neither look nor act my age On the converse, I have 3 friends my age or older with children that are 5 & so I don't see it as that odd.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I guess I'll probably be done by my mid to late 30's... depending on how long it takes us to get our 5 or 6 kids. I'm 25 now, I was 24 when I had Andrew.
widgetX12 replied: I was 23 when I had Isaac. Im 26 now, and my bf is 30. We plan on having at least one more, and as much as I think it would be a great time to have another Im just not ready for that responsiblity at this moment in time. I just graduated from college and still looking for a job. Id like to work for awhile, before we have another.
BAC'sMom replied: I did not have my first till I was 28. At that point my cut off was 30, we were through no more! Bite my tongue! I had my second @ 31, which was a total shock! Then I had my last and FINAL at 35.
Mom2Boyz replied: We had our first when we were both 25. We're 27 now and want to have one more before we turn 30.
coasterqueen replied: IF and that's probably NOT going to happen, but I've told DH that if we ever have any more kids we have to be pg or done by 35. I just don't want to take any health risks.
But for those who have/had infertility problems I understand how sometimes you have babies later in life. My sitter is a prime example. Her and her DH has tried for years for a baby. They finally got pg for the 1st time in October and lost the baby around Christmas Eve 2005. So I think for her she'd be happy to get pg at any age.
For me I had mine at the right age. Not too early that I felt I was robbing my "growing up" years and not too late that I feel I will be in a wheelchair when they graduate.
That scares me you think you'd be in a wheelchair at 53. My FIL will be in his 70's when his last one graduates highschool, but that's because his 4th wife and him never got the concept of birth control and if you throw up your pill when you are sick it means you aren't protected. Now he will probably be in a wheelchair.
moped replied: I had Jack when I was 32 and Tom was 44 - hopefully one more but who knows right!!!!!!!!
luvmykids replied: I had Miss Macie at 31 no 32 no wait, 33 I think? I don't know, but I have a point here .... oh yeah. My decision not to have any more was more based on wanting to maintain my sanity than my age. I know others with more kids than me handle it but 3 is plenty for us.

Bee_Kay replied: I don't see anything odd in it at all
It's just innocent teasing between friends
kimberley replied: well, 33 may be the golden age for me. with Kaleigh's birth so fresh in my mind, i really don't know if i want to go through that ever again. the late nights with baby and early mornings with the other children really wear you down. plus i want to be young enough to enjoy my life a bit once the kids grow up, so i think i am done.
kit_kats_mom replied: 34
mckayleesmom replied: I was 22 when I had Mckaylee and 24 when I had Russell....
MyLuvBugs replied: I would like to have our third child around 31 years of age, and if possible a fourth, but I don't want to have kids after the age of 35. But that's future. I'm just working on kid #2.
Lexismama replied: i had Alexis at 21 (im 22 now) and i still want 2-3 more but hoping to be done when DH and I are in late 20's early 30's!!!!!
MamaJAM replied: Our motto was "5 by 30" (meaning we wanted 5 kids by the time I turned 30). We had our 5th baby 1 month after my 30th b-day. I was 19, 23, 25, 29, 30 when the kids were born.
I personally didn't want to have any babies once I turned 30. I've had some issues throughout my pregnancies -- I feel it's best not to push it in my 30s+.
While we're _done_ having kids....and hoping to be young grandparents....we aren't doing anything permanent. DH and I joke that we'll probably have a surprise baby in our 50s!
3xsthefun replied: I had Kaitlynn when I was 18 and I had Maegan when I was 22.
If we ever have anymore I want have one more before I turn 30. I'm 24 right now and Rob is 36. He said he really does not want anymore because he don't want be in his 60's when our last kid graduates.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I am 31 now and will have two kids under two before I hit 32. I'm going to wait awhile for the next one, but I don't have a specific age in mind as to when that is. I'm just going with the flow I guess! Although my first was planned, life is so unpredictable IMO. I want to be alive to see my kids graduate or get married or have children of their own, so I suppose age is a factor in that, but on the otherhand anything can happen to me and DH at any time.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I am pregnant with my third and final right now and when he/she is born I will be 25
CantWait replied: well said
I'd like my next and last one in the next 4 years. I doubt that will happen though.
amymom replied: Well, I am 47 and DH is 57 (both March birthdays) My son will be 15 on the 28th and my daughter just turned 9. So in 9 years my dd will graduate from High School in June and we will be 57 and 67. I don't expect either of us to be in wheel chairs but who knows. It saddens me that I may not be around when my grandchildren are growing up but other than that I expect to see my ds and dd through many of lifes ups and downs. (whether they like it or not!!!)
We didn't plan to have a baby when I was almost 39, but we did and we wouldn't trade her in for anything. Before we found out we were pg with our son we were told that without 'intervention' we probably would not get pregnant so we had decided to adopt an older child, but before we even picked an agency SURPRISE! Then dd surprised us 6 years later!
Seriously, if I was making recommendations, I would probably recommend baby's by the time you are 40 is a good thing. But we take what the Good Lord sends our way
