Help! Fainting...
5littleladies wrote: Twice in the past 3 days I have passed out. Once when checking on Brianna in the middle of the night and once a few minutes ago when I got up from the computer. I've also had some dizzy spells in between but nothing too bad. Even as I sit here I feel so dizzy it is making me sick. I have Dh making me some soup in case it is from low blood sugar but the very thought of food is making me nauseous. I've never had this happen during pregnancy before. Is there anything I can do to make it go away?
kimberley replied: this happened to me too with DS#2. unfortuntately, i was told there is not much you can do about except slow down. it is your body's way of telling you to rest. try keeping a cool cloth on your head/neck and drink plenty of water. make sure you are taking prenatal vitamins and snack often. i hope it stops for you soon. took until the 4th month or so before it did for me.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I had this happen after Claudia was born. My doctor told me to get up slowly from a sitting position and when I got of bed in the morning he said to just sit up for a few minutes, then slowly stand. I would definately see a doctor if this continues. I know how difficult eating is when you are feeling nauseus, but try eating some toast with jam on it to elevate your sugars. I hope you feel better soon!
ediep replied: I had this happen whe I was preg with Jason. Try to rest and keep your blood sugar up, juice may be a good option if you don't feel like eating much
mammag replied: This happened to me once and I felt like I was going to pass out several other times but sat down right away. The reason for me was that when I would stand up my blood pressure would drop significantly. My doctor told me if it kept happening they would have to put me on medication but I just know now when I'm feeling that way and sit down and relax right away. The time I passed out I wasn't pregnant but I almost passed out a lot more when I was pregnant. I would call your doctor.
Hope you feel better and everythings okay.
mummy2girls replied: This happened to me but when i did pass out i was in the middle of the grocery store..LOL.
Just drink some juice, and go see your OB if it keeps up. And try standing up slowoly from a sitting position...
5littleladies replied: Thanks everyone! I guess juice it will be-and taking things a bit more slowly. I"m not really worried about it-It's more of a nuciance and an embarassment than anything but I'd hate to scare the kids-I think that is my biggest fear.
amynicole21 replied: I never did fully pass out, but thought I would MANY times during the first trimester. I would be walking down the hall at work and have to hold onto the wall to keep standing. It was awful! It went away after a few weeks. Just take it easy and try to eat at least a cracker or something every hour.
Littlejojames replied: I never passed out during the 1st tri but my friend it was like she had that sleeping disorder she would drop everywhere and anywhere.
Also 3littleladies - when did you tell us you were pregnant?? i was thinking about you yesterday.
CONGRATULATIONS
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I passed out at the grocery store when I was pg with Ethan. Maddie was with me, too. They brought me water and a Snickers bar and I felt fine in minutes. I was so sick I didn't want to eat and yet I was having to stay busy with a 3 year old so I was burning energy. Try to eat....even if you don't feel like it. If you are out be sure and take some granola bars or jolly ranchers.
I'm still so excited for you!
5littleladies replied: Last week. I don't remember where I posted it or I would have put a link.
And Aimee-Thanks for the suggestion to take something out of the house with me. I wouldn't have thought of it.
A&A'smommy replied: I remember that I felt so bad for you!!!
(((HUGS))) for you Jennifer I got dizzy like that but it was more in the mornings since I was keeping my niece and nephew I made sure I ate and some sort of fruit and then I ate a granola bar (I ate healthy then) and then like an hour or so later I would eat some oatmeal.
mitchzgirl replied: Low blood sugar will make you pass out, and make you feel sick to your stomach, the only remedy is eating something with a lot of calories and good sugar(try toast and peanut butter) Juice never worked enough for me. I'm hypoglycemic(sp?) so I passed out a lot even before I was preggo. Get some food in your tummy and your sugar up and you'll feel tons better!
angelhair replied: hello. the idea to have something with you is a good idea. also in the morning before I get out of bed i eat some crackers that i leave by the bed the night before to get something in my stomach and it helped. love dee
coasterqueen replied: Yikes Jennifer! I'd say you already got some good advice. I sure hope it goes away very soon!
