Help finding some curtains
coasterqueen wrote: I am trying to find curtains for Megan's room and I'm not having any luck. All I want is either lavender or sage green curtains. I found some lavender gingham curtains at Pottery Barn but they are really out of my price range.
Any ideas? Edit: I should note I'm not looking for sheers I'm looking for actual curtains.
MomToMany replied: Ebay, baby!
kimberley replied: have you checked target.com? they have a lot of stuff cheap. i am sure you could find something you like.

5littleladies replied: I'm telling ya' Karen-you need to learn how to sew. It would help these next couple of months pass more quickly and it really isn't hard. And seriously-making curtains is sooo easy and really cheap too.
I'm not really sure where you could find the ones you are looking for. You have probably already checked out any place that I could come up with. I hope you have some luck finding them. Those are really pretty colors-are they both going in Megan's room?
Boys r us replied: I was looking at Target.com the other day when I was looking for my shower curtain and they had about every color sheer you could imagine.
coasterqueen replied: I checked there, no luck except sheers which I don't want.
coasterqueen replied: I saw those but don't think I can go with them because the bedding has patchwork in it and not sure I want to intro another design, kwim. I really did like those though and they are definitely in my price range .
coasterqueen replied: I wish I could so but I have no patience.
I was going to go with the sage and lavender but last night I put the bedding together just to see what it would look like and the lavender looked too loud compared to the sage. So now I guess the only other color that seemed to look good was the yellow with sage. I really wanted to do the lavender.
Here's a pic of the quilt bedding, although I got mine on ebay. There is lavender in the quilt it's just hard to tell by the pic.
coasterqueen replied: Thanks Nichole, but I'm not wanting sheers. I'm wanting regular curtains, which then I will put white sheers behind them. We get a TON of light on the kids wing of the house and so I need all that just to keep the sun 1/2 way out of the room, which I'd only do while they were sleeping.
Boys r us replied: Sorry, Apparently I'm still half asleep this morning, I thought your 1st post said ETA: I AM looking for sheers! Haa! Sorry!
~KARA~ replied: Looking at the pic of the bedding Id say you have lots of options to what color you get. I have a sewing machine and Id offer to make the curtians for you if you bought the material but my dam machine is BROKEN!! You could probably find a sewing shop near you that might be able to make some for you but having some what of a professional do it might get kinda pricey. Take the comferter with you shopping and see if you find anything that you like with it. You might like something else if you actually see the colors together!
MomToMany replied: That is gorgeous bedding!!! Sorry I don't have more ideas for you. I tried doing a Google search, but didn't turn up anything interesting.
jcc64 replied: Just a thought Karen. Can't remember where you live, but there must be a Joanne Fabrics or a Walmart with a fabric dept (where you might even be able to see some of my company's fabrics). Find something you like, and then ask the clerk if she knows of anyone who would take on a small job like yours. Another possibility is a tailor or dry cleaner that does alterations. I don't know how to sew either, but I think curtains are a pretty easy sewing job- I doubt it would cost that much. A simple gingham in one of those stores shouldn't retail for more than $5 yd, and in all likelihood would be much less.
Kaitlin'smom replied: It really not hard to make basic curtains, even pleted ones are pretty easy. I know you dont have the patience. Jennes idea is good try a local fabirc stor and see if you like anything and if they know of anyone who could sew them.
Also are you wanting them to move or stationary?
ooohhh I just thought of a neat idea but you dont want to sew them....hummm I would do it but I am not near you and I am not sure you want to deal with that.
coasterqueen replied: Thanks everyone for your help. I especially want to thank those who offered to sew for me. That was very sweet of you.
I tried "lilac" in my search instead of lavender and came up with much more. I ordered some last night within my price range. It was a bit more than I *really* wanted to spend. Hopefully I'll like them. If not I'm back at square one.
kimberley replied: that's great! do you have a pic to show us? btw, i love the bedding! very nice!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I hope they are what you want.
ps I love the bedding
ammommy replied: Have you checked jcpenney.com?
