Kaitlin'smom replied: come out come out

we miss you

update please biggrin.gif

mammag replied: Well how sweet of you guys! It's been so long since I've been in here so I was trying to stay quiet and see what I've missed. tongue.gif

I am getting ready to send the kids back to regular school. They are going to be going to a Charter school. We did 3 years of homeschooling and Kristen was really wanting to be with more kids again so I checked into schools. When I found this one and got informatin on it, the boys started to want to go so.... that's the plan. We will see how it goes. I am nervous, sad, relieved, hopeful...

They are all getting so big now. Kristen is a true teenager but we seem to get along better than we ever have. We are going to a Jonas Brothers concert together this weekend. laugh.gif Oh joy for me!

Cade is almost as tall as us now. He wears a size 9 men's shoe so bigger than daddy's feet and only in 6th grade. ohmy.gif

Conner is as goofy as ever, always the clown of the family. Keegan is trying to follow in his footsteps. It's never dull around here that's for sure.

All in all, we are doing quite well. We just took a trip to D.C. and New York which we are stil trying to recover from. It was fun but hectic.

I'm trying to put an updated picture on my signature but seem to have forgotten how.. blush.gif No worries, I'll get it worked out.

I'm so touched that you guys remembered me. wub.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: Wow! Big changes in the works for you guys!! Hope all goes well this year. thumb.gif

I've kept that JBro concert under wraps here. I got her tickets to the Lion King in Sept so I couldn't pony up for both. Have a great time, though. as a vetern of the Cheetah Girls and HS Musical tours my advice is buy a Tshirt before the concert anywhere BUT the venue and bring earplugs!!

Thanks for the update! hug.gif

Your kids got sooooo big (I guess that kind of happens, doesn't it?). They're all gorgeous!
Maybe now that you're no longer homeschooling, we'll see a little bit more of you? I hope so! Looking forward to catching up more...

Kaitlin'smom replied: sounds like you got your hands full.

I must say...they get more beautiful each year!!! They are growing up so fast. wub.gif

mammag replied: I thought of some more things that have been going on since I was here.

As I said in another post, Chris became a citizen this year. He's been here since he was 2 but they never made him a citizen and he just never got around to doing it until now. So finally this year he did it! I was so happy for him because I know it was something he really, really wanted to do. We all went to the ceremony and it was very touching. He is excited to vote in this election and I'm excited to have another Republican voting with me. tongue.gif

The funny thing is, I've always wanted to get jury duty and never have. I know, I'm a big dork, but I think it would be interesting. He registers and gets it right away! Only he doesn't want it at all. He starts on the 2nd and will be in the pool for 2 weeks. That part sucks I guess because he'll just be sitting there if they don't need him.

I don't remember whether I had started taking Jiu-Jitsu myself the last time I was here but I was. I really like it and was progressing quite well. I have 3 stripes on my white belt so one more to become a blue belt. However, first I tore the meniscus in my right knee. I was out for a couple of months so that wasn't too bad. I just took it easy for a bit. Then, a few months ago, I went and broke my big toe on the right foot! mad.gif I did a real number on it. I broke it at the first knuckle (is that what you call it really when it's a toe? everyone looks at me funny when I say that), into three pieces. They had me wear a shoe cast for a while and it took a lot longer than it should have to start calcifying. It is finally starting to heal but the toe had gone stiff. I have to do silly toe exercises everyday. I can now flex it upward on my own but can not bend it downward. I'm afraid it will never be able to work properly. In the sceme of things not being able to bend your toe seems so minor but to me it really bugs me.

So I'm not sure about going back to Jiu-Jitsu. You are up on your toes a lot when you are sprawling or even just moving around to do an arm bar or something. I never realized how much my toes came into play. I think I would be able to do it but my concern is that being off for two injuries has put a dent in my working out. I still am not at a poing where I can squat because I can't use that much weight for fear that I would press off my toe and not be stable with the squat. I love Jiu-Jitsu but it is really important to me to be able to work out. Right before I broke it we had started doing a 5k a few nights a week and now I haven't been able to run since and don't know how long it will be until it is pain free enough to do it again. But then when I think "I'm too old for this, no more Jiu-Jitsu" I get really sad.

So anyway.... just thought of those two things and wanted to add them in.

I wonder if they've started pulling newer registered voters lately? A friend of mine (who just moved here from KY) told me she got picked here right after she registered to vote, too. weird, huh?

Very cool that Chris got his citizenship. In today's political world climate, I think it's a good idea to do it if you plan on staying here.

Sorry about the toe. Sounds very painful but I did get a chuckle out of the visual of you doing your toe exercises!

MommyToAshley replied: OMG OMG OMG... soooo good to see you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, look at your kiddos, they're so grown up. I love that picture though. wub.gif

What a big change it will be going from homeschooling to charter school. But, you've given them a great foundation, and I think it just demonstrates what a great parent you are to listen to your kids. I know it couldn't have been an easy decision, but it sounds like you've chosen a great school. Ashley started 1st grade on Aug 12... can you believe it???!!! I still can't.

Congrats to Chris on his citizenship! thumb.gif

Sorry to hear about your injuries. Ouch. I hope your toes is back to normal in no time. hug.gif hug.gif

I'm so glad you gave us an update! We've missed you!!

mammag replied:
