Hey Karen (boogabearsmom)

Corey's still sporting a dazzling 105.3 fever. If I hadn't already been through this with Alec when he was this age, I'd be a lunatic!

coasterqueen replied: ohmy.gif OMG 105.3????? How are you even surviving? Poor Corey sad.gif grouphug.gif.

Well, Dh sent Kylie to the sitter yesterday afternoon and she did GREAT but then as soon as I picked her up she didn't stop whining, crying, etc and still hadn't until I dropped her off this morning. rolleyes.gif

Her fever broke the other day, but she complains that everything hurts and her eyes still have the matting crap from the pink eye.

My morning medicine routine is: give her amox, let her rest a bit from that ordeal, beg her with every piece of candy and soda to take her cough medicine.....she'll finally take it....then I let her rest a bit from that ordeal, then hold her down for dear life and put the pink eye drops in her eyes while she screams bloody murder.....let her rest from that....then I put the fungus cream in her hair which she screams about....then I get her dressed and we are out the door. rolleyes.gif Poor kid, I feel so sorry for her sad.gif

And she's not sleeping for ANYTHING!!!!!! BUT of course she is just peachy keen for the sitter though. dry.gif

Ok, are you sorry you asked? tongue.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Holy Crap! 105.3?!?!?! I'd be a nutcase. unsure.gif

Go away sickies...go away sickies....go away & leave us all alone!!!!! smash.gif

kimberley replied: yikes! poor babies! hope they are both better soon grouphug.gif

jcc64 replied: Wait, what fungus creme- what did I miss? What's that for?

coasterqueen replied:
Well when I took her to the doc last Friday for her feet and eyes I also had to take her for her head issue.

At birth she got stuck which put a HUGE sore on her head. It scabbed and I thought had just pretty much scarred. Later I started noticing what I thought was dry skin from it and over her life so far started noticing it's NOT just dry skin and her hair also wasn't growing really well on top of her head. The doctor said she has a fungus (eww!) growing on her head which is causing her hair not to grow either. So we have to put this cream on her head twice a day for two weeks and we can only wash her hair 2 times a week so her hair is a MESS and so gross from the cream. DH refuses to put it on because he feels bad at how bad her hair looks rolleyes.gif so I have to do it but I can't touch the stuff while pregnant (very bad) so I have to wear gloves.

It's a whole lotta fun lately! cool.gif BUT I must say I'd be even more strung out if she had a 105.3 temp! Holy moly! I hope that breaks for her REAL SOON! grouphug.gif

jcc64 replied: The reason I'm asking is b/c I've been doing alot of reading about ringworm lately (which is actually a fungus) b/c in addition to her viral troubles, I'm pretty certain Corey has ringworm on her behind. I changed her diaper on a rug at my brother's house on Sat, and Sun she woke up with a perfect little circle on her butt. Because he just got a dog from the ASPCA, I'm pinning the blame on him. I've been treating it as if it is ringworm, which only requires an OTC anti fungal creme. Totally nasty though, isn't it?!
So, in addition to their respective viruses, Corey and Kylie also share a fungal commonality. How sweet!

kit_kats_mom replied: Ringworm? My sitters son has this right between his eyes. It looks like someone put a hot half dollar on his forehead and burned him. Yuck

coasterqueen replied:
OMG Ringworm? Ewwwwww, sorry. Poor Corey and YOU! Geesh, does this ever end for our kiddies! dry.gif

jcc64 replied: Hey Cary- I think head ringworm is highly contagious, you might want to ask? Anywhere else on the body can apparently only be passed from a domestic animal to a human.

iluvmysweetiepies replied: OMG poor babies!! sad.gif I hope Kylie and Corey both feel better very quickly!! Go away sickies!

loveydad replied: 105. I would take her to the doctor- i'm sure you have.

after 105 they can start getting brain damage- I know becuase I had 106 and I nearly died.

hope the babies are better soon.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: poor sickies, get better smile.gif
Karen, I can't immagine going through all the meds (blech) Katy freaks when I try to give her advil, and the claritin has to be sneaked in the morning milk cup smile.gif
Jeanne, Do your kids have abnormal temps usually? I have always been the freak (smile.gif) whose normal temperature is 97.0 and when I get a fever it instantly goes to atleast 105, the dr. said it is just the way my body react to infection but I always wondered if others who get the real high fevers normally have the strange *normal* temps

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
My normal temp is 97.something - it's usually in the lower 97's - it used to be 96 all the time. And when I have a fever sometimes it doesn't even get very much higher than the average normal 98.6 - but I can still tell that I have a fever you know? Dh is the same way. dunno.gif This week when I was really sick the highest that it got (that I know of) was 102. That's weird that yours shoots way up! huh.gif I guess everyone is different! tongue.gif

coasterqueen replied:
OMG I'm the same way!!!!! I can be very aggravating when trying to convince a doc that you really have a temp too. rolleyes.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, I just want to reach out and give all the sick babies some hugs! But, since I can't do that, here's some GET WELL vibes!
