Hi, new here...

I have been lurking here for awhile and like that I'm seeing a calm enviroment. Our board spawned yet another offshoot that then chose to do battle with us by sending trolls over to wreak havoc when possible, even infiltrated the ranks of our mods. The divisiveness caused a split in membership and our admin clamped down on security. The result has been a stagnated membership and incredibly slow boards. I have some doubts about its survival. Oh, and I am also the admin of my own smaller private message board as well.

So, I decided to really strike out and start anew. I don't know that I am familiar with anyone here, but I hope you don't mind me joining in with you all as this seems like a very nice place to be.

I have a daughter named Ashley born Sept. 5, 2002 and a son born to Jesus on Feb 2, 2000. I'm also the technical administrator here. My wife is MommyToAshley who runs most of the board.

I am sure you will have a good time here at Parenting Club. All the mothers and fathers here are wonderful and very helpful. Were still fairly new but were growing nicely. We will be opening the main website soon with useful information for parents as well as fun and games for both parents and their children.

Shooter replied: Hi all. Well, funny thing is, I AM on the daddy board at PP, I just don't think it's the same PP you guys talk about here! When I first came by this place and was lurking around, I saw several threads that didn't exactly talk kindly of "PP" and I thought, uh oooohhh...maybe I shouldn't be here. Then after reading more, I realized there's no way the PP being talked about here could be the one I'm from. For one thing, I never saw any of you guys at my PP. You also talked about forums that never existed at the PP I was at. The PP I am a moderator at only came into existence this past May. Most of us were former members of StorkNet. So, at any rate, I don't know what the PP is that you talk about here and I think I have the two straightened out now. LOL

Oh, and I have a link to Jeremy's picture page set up in my sig area now as well. The main pics are from his first birthday, the last 4 are very recent. He has just, in the past week, started taking steps on his own and climbing stairs. We just went ahead and ordered his big outdoor playset from Rainbow Recreation since he likes swinging so much.

Thanks for the great welcome. I'll be around mostly during the day as I do most of my posting from work (don't tell my boss). My wife and I work separate shifts out of the same office here so that one of us can be with Jeremy at all times.

LOL!! The PP we talk about is Parent's Place on IVillage. They recently instituted some change to the format and it did NOT go over well!

I am a work away from home mom and have two great boys, Matthew 5yrs and Thomas 19months and a great DH (who I can't get to come on the boards, oh well maybe some day). I do most of my posting form work now too...as when I'm home, I'm usually so busy I can't even go to the bathroom!!! I really do love it here, there is so many nice people around to offer help, advice, support... I really couldn't ask for a better place.

I think it is great you have worked it out so that you or your wife can be home with Jeremy! My DH and I run our own business so we are home with Ashley all day, and one of us is usually watching her while the other one is working. It can make for some LONG days sometimes, but it is sooo worth it!

Oh, and I went and looked at your PP place (somehow, that just doesn't sound right ), and as I expected, it's one of those, like, billion member megasites, isn't it? How do you ever get settled into places that big? Hmmph, must be the small town boy in me.

Regarding PP. There are alot of members but many of us were in the Expecting clubs together and those turn into the playgroups after the babies are born. Over the course of 9 months, you get to know the people who post alot. There were alot of "getting to know you" polls to help.

I like this place alot better though. There were some wierd things going on on those boards near the end. Lots of infighting, people feeling left out etc. It was really pretty silly. I've already graduated highschool and I didn't really want to get involved with it again.
