Holy Toledo Batman! - What does a day at the pool cost . . . .
mom21kid2dogs wrote: in your area? I was reading an article this morning that said one of the Columbus suburb pools charges $6 per child and $7 per adult! Yikes!!! Can people really afford that? I go to a beautiful new pool in a little SE Ohio town~handicap accessible, sloped entry, large twisty slide, seperated diving area and lap lanes~huge pool and it costs $3.75 for adults and $1.75 for under 6. These are out of town rates~in town is cheaper! What does a day at the pool cost in your part of the world?
mommy_loves_chase replied: if i ever had a chance to go to the pool lol me and my B/F usually go out on the lake on our friends boat to swim wanna see something funny watch a 5 month Pg girl pull herself up a ladder on the side of a boat while it is rocking, anyway i dont think it is really that expensive here i use to live across from the city pool and i think it was like 3.00
mammag replied: Our pool costs $4.50/day and is not worth that at all. It has two pools with a diving board and that's it. You can do that or pay $200 (school district resident) for a yearly pass for the family. If I were going to go I'd do the daily but that would still be $18 plus I'd have to get Emma's mom to send $$ so I don't go. I'd rather go to Deer Creek beach or something I think.
amymom replied: Well, the town I live in now has a beach. (on the beautiful St. Lawrence River) Free, with swim lessons, free. There are also buses that go to three neighboring villages and bring kids six and over to the beach from noon until 3pm (not likely I'd send mine but good for some parents). This is also free.
The city I lived in before has 4 outdoor public pools free to city residents. $1.00 to non-residents.
So no wonder our taxes are so high!!!!
ammommy replied: Thankfully, our subdivision has a pool whose membership is included in our dues. I think one of the local pools has a pass for about $250 for a family. It's pretty steep, IMO
My2Beauties replied: It depends on which pool around here. Some of them are like $3 or $4 for the whole day and they are decent, some are that much and are nasty. The really nice ones are a bit more expensive though. We normally just go to a lake or a friend's pool that we know.
TANNER'S MOM replied: We have an AQUATIC Center..that is awesome..
Randy actually tookt he kids yesterday..and I did on Sunday..
It is 4.00 per person. But it has two large slides that you have to pass a swimming test to do..and then 2 other DEEO 13'6 water slides..
High and Low drive..
It has 3 kiddie pool and a sprinkler area for kids to play..
A large swimming pool...w/ built in Floaties and things to play on. It also has a lap area that everyone but Randy takes advantage of..
It me it is really worth the 4.00 to swim someone nice and clean. The kids are given a bracelet and cant leave until the parent presents the matching bracelet and or number...
Its worth that!
Kaitlin'smom replied: well since we have a pool in our back year its free (except the cost of mantinece) and my sister also has a pool. but as far as public pools I dunno we dont go, I will sk the sitter what it cost them when they go
mckayleesmom replied: We have a kiddie pool by our house...its about the size of 2 built ins you would put at a house....its only 1 ft deep which is nice for toddlers.
We have an indoor pool with some slides and another kiddie pool and kiddie slide down the road...its 2.50 for adults and the kids are free.
We also have a water park here on base that is 4 dollars for adults and 350..for kids...but I think the lifeguard said Mckaylee and Russ were free because they are 2 and under....They also have certain days where they give the kids baskin Robbins ice cream for free.
kimberley replied: that's a lot! we don't go to public pools because of James' eczema but last time i did i think it was about $3.00
~KARA~ replied: Here in my part of Ohio we have 3 pools. 2 of which are "members" only pools and cost like 300$ just for the membership from memorial day to labor day.
The other pool is the "welfare" pool and alot of not so nice people go there. I took my oldest dd once and it was 1 or 2 $ for adults and 50 or 75 cents for kids.
I normaly dont take my kids to a public pool, my mom has one.
ZandersMama replied: Last time I went to the public pool, it was 4.50 for me and 3.00 for my son who was only like 7 months old at the time. It has a diving board and a small slide. We only went once, because its a bit pricy. The beach is FREE
JAYMESMOM replied: We don't really have any public pools near me but the closet water park with a wave pool and slides is $9.00 for adults and 7 for kids.
Too pricey for me.
