Home Buying - pics

Boo&BugsMom wrote: Stacy's post about buying her first house got me thinking. Troy and I would like to move to a larger house in a smaller town within the next couple years, God willing. So, of course being the person I am, I got a bug in my butt and started taking pics of our house. You know, for the internet home buying sites wink.gif. Anyways, tell me, what do you think of them? I only snapped pics of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and backyard, oh and one of the boy's room. I don't care for our bedroom so I'm not posting that one laugh.gif . Would this appeal to you?

I don't know how to post more than one pic per post so bare with me.
Dining room: this one didn't turn out very clear.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: I would suggest opening all the window coverings and letting in more light before you have them posted on a website. Also, you'd probably want to remove some of the magnets from the fridge to "clean" it up a bit. But I like the looks of the house.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Our Backyard:

lisar replied: Well me and my DH have decided to put our house up for sale in March. I am wanting something bigger. My house is only like 1500 square feet. To small for the 4 of us. Your house is nice. I like the pictures. It would be one I would like at if the square footage was right.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
That's what we want too. For the 3 of us, 900 square feet just isn't going to cut it once the kids get older. laugh.gif

kimberley replied:
i agree and maybe hide some of the toys in the kids room too. nice house. thumb.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Your house looks great! thumb.gif Beautiful colors on the walls. Love your backyard. smile.gif

For the website though, I would rearrange the furniture in the LR to make it look more spacious. I would also de-personalize things. Like the refrigerator as Kelly mentioned, taking things off the walls (esp pictures), I would remove as much as possible that is not necessary to live without, and then go from there.

A buyer, especially if they cannot see it in person right then and there, would like to be able to picture themselves in that house. Taking things out and off the wall will help to accomplish that.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Well, by then we will have our play room done in the basement so that will help. However, then we'll have our baby so that will mean more stuff. dry.gif Don't have much room as you can see, we're outgrowing the house fast. sad.gif All of Tanner's toys are actually up except for his trucks on the floor that aren't even a lot. I think there are 4 of them against the wall. Plus, I still also have to be able to run my business when we sell it, which stinks because there is so much daycare stuff. Despite how the pictures make it look, my house is pretty clutter free and organized, even with daycare stuff. smile.gif Now, the basement, that's another story! laugh.gif

ETA: I wish I could rearrange our furniture, but it's impossible, seriously. That is literally the only way the furniture will fit into the room. sad.gif That's what I hate about a small house. Blah. I think I might store the chair and ottoman though once that time comes so it's out of the way of the entryway in the LR/DR. It's nestled in a way where it looks decent, but I don't like how it's right there in the way.

Thanks all for the ideas! thumb.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: jennie your husband isnt going to be happy with my for planting this bug is he?

i think your pics look nice.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Oh no! He's been talking about it ever since we looked into this small little town about 30 minutes away. He even went as far as emailing a contractor about building a house. I think he's just as bad as I am. blush.gif biggrin.gif
