Home from the ER

Well his fever got worse over the last few days and he has just felt so awful, crying, unable to sleep and such. This afternoon his fever went up to 102.8 and nothing would bring it down and he wouldn't stop crying, wouldn't eat or drink. So I took him to the ER. They got his fever down and he drank some juice. Turns out he has a kidney infection! My poor baby! He had to get 2 shots and we start the meds for it tomorrow morning (the 2 shots were to start the meds in his system). I know it is nothing I did but I feel like the worst mommy in the world. I knew there was something more wrong then just an ear infection. But the pedi he saw the other day (not his normal pedi) pretty much passed me off as a paranoid mom.

MoonMama replied: Thanks everyone. He's doing a world better after those shots. Not great of course but so much better. We got some sleep last night thank goodness. I put him down at about midnight when we got home from the ER. He woke up at about 2am I gave him some Motrin and he went right back down, woke up again at about 5am I brought him into bed with me and he went right back to sleep until 11am! 11!?!?!?!?! This is the kid that never sleeps I was blown away by that. Anyway he seems to be on the mend. Thanks for all the kind words and get well wishes.

MommyToAshley replied: Poor little guy. I just look at that picture in your siggy and it breaks my heart to know he didn't feel well. But, I'm glad you decided to take him back in and he is on the mend. And, I agree, don't beat yourself up, I would have done the same in your shoes.
