My hubby works at a wood factory and he makes wood products like decks beds things like that and he made our bed and on our bed he put Will You Marry Me wub.gif and when i saw that i said yes yes yes biggrin.gif i was so happy laugh.gif its still there to this day smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wow! I love that bed story! Great!

DH and I have been married for four years this Thursday! We've known each other for 12, dated for I think 7 years. He proposed at our first apartment. We lived in this tiny studio apartment which we paid $950/month back in 1998!! Can you believe that?! But it was in Santa Barbara, CA...that was cheap for there. Anyway, we were so happy even in this tiny little studio and he wanted to propose at home. So one night right around his birthday, his FIL asked me to go shopping with him alone to pick out gifts for my DH. I thought it was a bit strange and my FIL was not very good at hiding his excitement. So when I got home and opened the door, there were red rose petals all around the apartment and DH had made a nice dinner. During dinner, he pulled a ring box out from under the table and asked me to marry him. Not very original, but very romantic and cute because he had built a little shelf out of cardboard under the table to hide the box!! He's so cute! wub.gif

moped replied: Not very romantic here....I got home from work one night and I was running around trying to get ready to go out with freinds and he came upstaris and was all lovey dovey and asked me sit on the bed for aminute.....so I did and he told me how much he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me - and out came the ring.

We have been married for just over 3 years

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: We've been together for 8 years, married for 3.
Aaron and I were waiting for his bar exam results. When we saw his name on the pass list we were dancing around our house and he just dropped on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes and we picked out my ring that weekend.

amymom replied: Well, We have been married for 20 years now. We met on May 15th and were married the following May 12th! so no long courtship for us. tongue.gif

He called me at work before our third date or so and my secretary came in, sat down and said "Who is this Lee person?" I said oh some guy I am dating ... she said "Oh no...he will be your husband someday" I told him about it later that night we laughed about it and then both of us said ... "Well should we?" That was in June, we officially became engaged the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. We had discussed getting engaged on Wednesday night (I liked to plan everything no surprises for me emlaugh.gif ) But on Tuedsay night we were at a seminar and he handed me a box (small shirt box size) and said here is something to keep your hand warm. I opened it to find an ice scraper with a mitten attached to it. When I put my hand in the mitten the ring was there. wub.gif I cried even though I was expecting it the next day.

redchief replied: 22 years September 17, 1983.

I asked her at sunset on the bay (on bent knee, of course).

zdk753 replied: Me & hubby have been married 8 yrs. His proposal was as unromantic as they come. We were in the living room & he goes "how about we get married?." We were married 2 mos. later.

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Been married 5 years.

I was in my friends wedding and me and DH decided to stay the night at a hotel. We rented a room with a hot tub. After we relaxed in the hot tub I went to change and came out of the bathroom and he was down on his knee and asked me to marry him. wub.gif

3xsthefun replied: We have been together for 7 years, married for 6 years.

Rob asked me one evening at our house if I would marry him. We went and picked out some rings a few days after.

MyLuvBugs replied: June 7, 2003, so a little over 2 years.

He WAS going to ask me when we went to the beach (Newport Beach), but it got REALLY cold. Also, he'd skinned his knee skateboarding, so getting down on one knee wasn't going to be very fun for him. So we went and got back in my car, and I was shaking out my shoes, and he said "Ouch". Without looking I said, "What is your problem now" (thinking he was going to complain about my car yet again). He says "oh nothing I just hit my head getting in." I stopped shaking out my shoes and said still without looking at him "Well, if you weren't such a clutz." (Totally preparing myself for a fight) Then I turn to put my key in the ignition, andhe says "Well, I guess you'll just have to marry me then." and had the ring out and in my face. I knew it was coming, but I didn't know when and the ring is SOOOO beautiful. I just started crying and said yes. It was great. smile.gif wub.gif wub.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Dated for 4yrs... married officially on his GP's 50th wedding anniv of Feb 11th, 2002. Had a vow ceremony on May 4th, 2002. Total marriage just over 3.5 yrs. He came to pick me up from work one day, on the way home he referred to a bag (what is in the bag? I said) a box (what is in the bag?) another box (what is....?) velvet (and in that??) He said a surprise! For the entire 15min ride home this went on. He was talking some nonsense when we made it home, when he showed me the surprise (a lovely cherry wood jewelry box- with the set inside! Finally he had me sit on the couch-- again he was talking about something about being his wife... blahblah.gif blahblah.gif I was in total shock after I saw the ring, and realized what it meant. Anyways I was expecting a director somewhere to yell "cut!", or for some music to begin playing to signal a commercial break, or something-- it was unreal to me that this was happening to me. I think I was spaced out. bawling.gif

7+ years, two beautiful kids, and many memories later-- here we are. Happier than ever! love2.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: We were married May 24, 2003, so almost 2 1/2 years.

The proposal was not very romantic in a traditional sense but I loved it...I was away at college and he called me after I had been gone 2 weeks and told me how much he loved me and missed me. Then he told me to sit at my computer and IMed me the question.

We went together to pick out my ring 2 weeks later. Until then I wore a twist tie ring that he mailed to me the day before he asked (so that it would arrive the day after he asked - that's how sure he was that I would say yes laugh.gif )

b&bsmom replied: We were married May 9th 1998. We have been together 10yrs married 7yrs

We met bowling it is kinda funny (fate actually) I used to sub in one league to flirt with this guy and he used to try and flirt with me. Long story short the bowling alley we bowled out closed down. Dh thought he would never see me again ( I didn't even know his name) My regular league moved to another alley and he was subbing there one night for his parents. At that time I used to bowl on friday nights ( yes no life) with a bunch of senior citizens ( don't get me wrong it was fun) Anyway, the one old man I bowled with said Stacy who is that guy who keeps talking to you? I said I don't know just some guy who talks to me sometime. So the old man went to him and said Hey I have seen you around what is your name? I was thinking thank you My dh said his name and then the old man turned to me and said. That was all you had to do. I was so emabarrsed. He invited me to watch football and the rest is history.
He propsed after making me ( yucky) mac and cheese and cheeseburgers he got on one knee it was sweet. wub.gif
Sorry it got so long.

C&K*s Mommie replied:

Mac & cheese and cheeseburgers for dinner that night? That really was so sweet of him! Sounds like something my DH would do... rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: Married May 19, 2001....4 1/2 years.

I had been showing him pictures of rings that I liked trying to give him ideas. One night I went to his apt. after having dinner with some of my family. We were sitting on his bed talking and he went into how much he loved me and wanted to be together forever, then asked me....then told me how he had a ring being specially made in NYC but it was NOTHING like what I had been showing him. He said he cancelled the order earlier that day and that we'd get something else. I cried and told him I didn't care what it was (marquis center stone....hated that shape at the time...love it though) I would love anything because it was from the heart and he had designed it blahblah.gif blahblah.gif . Anyway, he had to call the jeweler back the next day to un-cancel the order! 5 LONG weeks later it came in and we were "officially" engaged and able to share our happy news.

b&bsmom replied:
It was his mom's recipe for mac and cheese and she breads it which I didn't like. The big joke in his family is I brought the good mac and cheese. The kids love it now when we go to family things. biggrin.gif

wub.gif We had been dating for about 2 years and had just moved into a condo in MA since I found out I was preggy. I was still in college. It was soo sweet wub.gif . At the hospital, I had James and he and I were holding him and then we were sittin in the hospital chairs wink.gif and I was holding James and he bent down and held both James and mine hands and said. "I really want to be apart of my sons life and yours. Will you marry me?"
wub.gif
We married 6 months later, James was 6 months, and we dressed him in an infant tux wub.gif and we carried him down the aisle with us!!

mom2tripp replied: We dated for about 2 years and have been married for 2 love2.gif

Sal and I met in college at James Madison University and he told me that he was taking me away for V-Day weekend, to be packed and ready when he picked me up. He took me to Luray VA to a cabin for the weekend. That Friday night we talked about getting married and he told me that he really wanted to but that he just couldn't afford it right now so I totally got it out of my head that it was going to happen. So the next day we went to Luray Caverns and Sal had never been there so I was so excited to show him. We walked through the whole tour and for those of you who have been there, there is a wishing well towards the end of the tour and the guide asked everyone to take out a penny and make a wish. Well Sal and I both did and when I opened my eyes, he said did you wish come true? I said, not yet (bc of course I thought this weekend I was going to be engaged and I wasn't!!!) Before I knew it, in front of all those people, he was down on one knee asking me to spend my life with him love2.gif

I'm a picture friek---here's us after we came out of the caverns!!!

EeyoreMommy replied: Thank you all for sharing your storys with me there all sweet wub.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied: It will be 8 years on Dec 2nd..

We were laying in bed after a night loving. And he held me in his arms and held my face and said I think I will just Marry you...

I said you will not..lol

He said why.. I said b/c we want different things and we have kids with other people.. He said Melba I am marrying your kids too. I will treat your kids like they are mine if you do the same for Tiffany. We are perfect for each other..lol

I never said yes.. and we never discussed it again until the day we married.

We lived together quite a while.. and I was big and pregnant with Tanner when we got married. We didn't even have rings.. just held hands.. He held my hand with one hand and had his hand on my stomach with the other.

I have never forgotten the words the JP said.. She asked Randy to pledge his Life and all his dreams to me.. I love that still today!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: We got married on March 16,1996 so this coming March will be 10 years! We knew eachother for about 4 years before we started dating(I was 13 when we met) Anyway one night we saw eachother,at church, and fell in love like in a movie( I was already in love with him...lol!) We got married 9 months later and here we are now...Oh he asked me at his mom and dad's house he went upstairs and brought a crystal ring holder down and said I got this for you while I was opening it he got down on one knee and said He loved me more than he knew he could love anyone and he wanted to share our lives!!! And took out the ring wub.gif His mom and dad came in a little while later and my MIL just looked at us and said Well whats new??? I said we are getting married and she started screaming and we were hugging! They had known he was going to ask! Awwww that was the best! wub.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied:

Mel~ Ya'll got married the day before my birthday! emlaugh.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: well, we met when I was 15 at a Valentine's party. we "went together" for 9 months, then broke up for almost 2 years. we got back together and when we'd been together almost another 2 years, we got engaged. My parents were having a yard sale one morning and of course I was helping out. Well my Dh and my dad went to get more tables from the church to set up. About 2 hours later they come back (by this time I'm worried a little since the church is 10 min. away). DH asked me to walk in the house with me and he asked right there in the living room. He didn't get down on his knee, but it was so sweet just the same. He told me afterwards that he wanted to take me out some place really nice but he had no more money after he bought the ring. (It's not a huge ring, we were just broke!) So, 2 1/2 years later we got married and have been married for a little over 7 years now. I couldn't ask for a better DH!

Thanks for asking about this... it helped me remember they way it used to be... wub.gif wub.gif

TeagansMom609 replied: We have been married for a year now. October 13, 2004.

LOL, this is a funny story....

I was pregnant with Teagan and we were living in my Mom's condo at the time saving for our move. I went out to pick Shawn up from work around 11 o'clock that night, we came home and I went straight on the computer to my usual pregnancy chat room, and he went in the bathroom. He was in there for awhile, he must have been practicing or something...But anyway, I was sitting in the chair in front of the computer typing away when all of the sudden he was standing behind me and said "turn around." I was like, "yea yea yea, hold on a second". So when I finally turned around he was on his knee, behind the chair, practically hiding...lol, and asked me to marry him. I wish he would have been more creative but he said he was just too excited and had to give it to me right away.

I always wanted to be taken up in a hot air balloon or something cool like that. happy.gif

Debra replied: We've been married almost 7 1/2 years. We got married May 3, 98 after he returned from bootcamp with the Navy.

We didn't have a real romantic proposal but I said yes nontheless! We met on Feb 7, 97 & engaged March 19, 97. Together ever since! wub.gif

Boys r us replied: Well, I've shared this before..but..I'm more than happy to share again, since it was so sweet!

Rick and I had been on vacation..we were strolling through some quaint shops and went into a really elegent jewelry store, I saw a ring that I fell in love with. I tried it on and watched the diamonds sparkle..I was sooo in love..with the ring! HA
"I WANT IT" I whined to Rick and then I was like, "I know, I know..we could NEVER afford this!"

So long story short, I ended up in the hospital deathly ill and had to be rushed back home for emergency surgery, cutting our trip short. So we ended up calling the jewler back and telling him we wanted the ring, but it was sold, so he said..his exact words,"I'm going to make one for you, just as special as you are Nichole" okay..kind of weirded me out; like the jewler was hitting on me!

So anyhow I knew the ring was coming..just didn't know when. So I talked to Rick during the day about a week after this and said, "did my ring come today?" and he said, "no..sorry hun" So anyhow, I'm getting a little bummed at that point and I get home and pull in the driveway. I turned towards the passenger side seat to get my purse and other stuff. When I turned back around, Rick and Tanner were standing outside my car door and Tanner opened the door and had a little black box in his hand and Tanner said, "mom..rick wants to know if he can marry us"

and of course, that made my century!

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
wub.gif wub.gif That made me cry!! How sweet was that???

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Scotty and I will celebrate our 8th anniversary in December. We have been together almost 10 years. wink.gif

He proposed to me at his cousin's wedding (july 19th, 1997) after I caught the bouquet. I turned around and he was behind me on his knee. wub.gif I have pictures, too. happy.gif We were married in Dec 97.

MommyofTwins replied: I've been going with mine since grade 8. As hard as this is to believe, he was my first and only. We got married in summer of '99 so it's been 6 years.

About a month into college he decided to come to my apartment one day, got down on one knee and proposed. Nothing special there. happy.gif
