How did u tell ur SO/DH about your preg?? - and vice versa??
luvbug00 wrote: Ladies how did you tell?? gents what did the So/Dw do to tell you??
when i found out with mya, her dad was there. But for the next time...
if it's planned: *put it where my BC is so when he goes to hand the pills to me in the morning there is a + test instead. *put the a sign where his dogs leash made by mya saying "were are going to be a family! 3+1=4" * write it using food or any other creative material i can think of. * buy a shirt and get shirt paint and draw a + preg. test on the belly.
If it's not planned: probaly the same thing to make it more positive of an experience
Brias3 replied: Those are cute ideas!
I never really got the chance to come up with something creative. I think Bruce was either there, or knew I was taking the test each time, so he ended up finding out at the same time as me!
mom2patrick&jalin replied: The first time my hubby was there when we found out. The second time my right foot was swollen and my hubby said to me, "I think you are going to have a baby" Now, you need to know that our son was 7 years old and 3 years before that I was told I could not have another baby. I did not believe him so he went and bought a home test. he took our son with him so to keep him from finding out what was going on the hubby bought the son a computer game. He got the wrong box out of the bag and came running into the house with the home test for me yelling "look what daddy bought for the computer" I thought that was cute.
luvmykids replied: With the twins, we had our suspicions thanks to all the delicious meals I ate and then left in the parking lot With Macie I was too freaked out and shocked to try to be cute about it (I'd been on the pill)....he found me crying on the bathroom floor
I was on b/c both times I got pg
Calimama replied: I went to the doctor because DH and I were convinced I had the flu and was getting dehydrated. Well he had to deal with some work stuff so he was out in the lobby on the phone while I was seeing the doctor. The blood test came back and the doctor told me I was pregnant. He gave me some paperwork I needed to go to the OB section but it didn't say the word "pregnant" on the paper... well I handed the paper to DH and the poor guy looked scared, he had no clue what HCG levels were, so I finally told him and he said, "Holy S*** I'm gonna be a daddy!??!!!!" at the top of his lungs.. while everyone was staring. He was thrilled, I was 10 steps past terrified.
A&A'smommy replied: Well the first time we kinda knew what we did right after wards SO when time came actually the day before I was suppose to get AF DH (df then) went and got me a pregnancy test I was keeping his niece and nephew while his sister was at school then at about 2 or so he was suppose to come and get us and take the kids to his parents so they could keep them while she was at work sooo anyway he brought me the test, I took it laid it on her bathroom counter and went to pack the kids things. WELL he decided to go look at it and he came into the kids bedroom while I was in there was this "just seen a ghost" look on his face I knew it was positive... I didn't believe that it was right (not knowing there is no such thing as a false positive) so I took another one that night and before I was even done taking it, it showed up positive
This time I started spotting and he came home from work and I told him that I thought I might be pregnant.. so I went to walmart got a few things, and the pregnancy test. I wasn't going to take it that night I was planning on waiting until the morning but I remembered taking them with Alyssa so I was like WTH I will just take it anyway and about 30 seconds after I did there was a + sign I was like OMG and started freaking after I talked to my best friend (so I could calm down before talking to DH) I called him and asked him to come home and he asked and I told him it was because I missed him and he said "you took the pregnancy test, didn't you" and i said "yes" he said "it was negative wasn't it?" I said "no" and he said "WHAT YOUR PREGNANT" LOL I was hoping for him to just come home so I could show him
mummy2girls replied: For jenna... I phoned up Aron and told him that i took a tests and its positive..LOL
well for me i was thinking to get jenna a shirt that says im goign to be a big sister! and then have her wear it in front of Marcus:)
and to tell his family.. me amd marcus and jenna will get a photo done at walmart with me holding a ultrasound picture of the new baby and then when they develop give them out:)
Twelve Volt Man replied: After two unsuccessful pregnancies, including one in which our daughter was carried full-term, we had to see a fertility specialist, as we weren't having any luck getting pregnant again. We did that for a year, with no results. The doctor had taken my wife off of the meds, to give her body a break. Wouldn't you know it, that's when it happened.
It was just a regular Saturday morning, almost exactly a year ago. I was finishing up some yard work, then came inside to get cleaned up before we headed out to watch a friend's granddaughter's soccer game. I went into the bathroom and saw the test on the counter. At first, I didn't recognize what it was, so I didn't pay any attention to it. Then it hit me. I examined it more closely, then dug the box out of the trash to confirm that I was reading it correctly. I raced out of the bathroom and found my wife on the couch, smiling. She confirmed that it was a positive, and now we have an awesome 4-1/2 month old!
moped replied: NOthing crazy here - had a couple mc so it was a simple - hey look, its positive!
skinkybaby replied: This part confuses me.
The first time I just said "Wow. It's positive!"
The second time I filled the living room with pink and blue balloons and bought Gracie a big sister shirt.
Danalana replied: This is my third pregnancy, but the first one to make it (the other 2 didn't fully implant and we lost them at 4 1/2 weeks). I think I called my husband at work all 3 times. Wait, the first time, I called him from work, and he was at home. Either way, I was way too excited to come up with a plan to tell him creatively
luvbug00 replied: .
I keep my BC pills in a dresser (our adult drawer) on his side of the bed. so he reaches over to hand me the pills every morning. I would put the test there because for him it's reflex to reach in and pull out the pill box. But if i were preg he would pull out my test instead.
Danalana replied: I think the reason it's confusing is that you wouldn't be taking the pills if you were planning on getting pregnant. At least, that's what I was thinking.
danahas4monkeys replied: Well the first time we had just got married while he was home on leave he had went back to Germany to get things ready for my arrival I found out why he was in the field on maneuvers I had to send a letter to him and have him call me and I told him over the phone lol
Second time it was planned so he knew. To bad by that time I found out he was a jerk!
new husband lol we tried for 2 yrs and finally gave up and then boom so I changed the screen saver on the computer to say "I'm Pregnant"
with the last one well he was a whoops and I just told him while in tears
luvbug00 replied: Ohh i get it !!! yeah but we use that drawer alot anyway
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: For Wesley, I made a sign saying "I'm going to be a big brother" and took a picture of Wil holding it. (Aimee's idea!) I'm trying to find the pic to post, but can't. DH loved it. Great surprise at work. My parents loved it too!
When PG with Wil, I was home on the weekend with DH. Took the test. Walked into the kitchen where he was standing and said "It's positive". Pretty simple.
lovemy2 replied: Showed him the stick both times -
Mommy2Isabella replied: With Bella ... told him to go look! I was very upset!!
This time, we were going to the fertility clinic the next day ... and I just wanted to be sure ... lol so I took a test and it was positive ... I just told him!
luvbug00 replied:
I remember that. it was really cute!
moped replied: So Nadia, you got baby fever? Have you got something to tell us?
Jackie012007 replied: Here's an exciting, LONG story!!!
I started getting symptoms almost immediately. Mostly puking. So I took a test - negative. Didn't really say anything to Carl. Then on my birthday (May 2nd) I took a test and got a faint positive and just about peed my pants. I didn't know what to do, so I called my Dr. and they got me in the next day. Took a test there and it was positive, but then I started bleeding on the ride home. I turned around and went back, and my Dr. said she thought it was either a false positive or a chemical pregnancy. I was really upset, and went home and told Carl. We moved on, and then I was approved for a tonsilectomy and surgery was set for June 2nd. I went in for lab tests on May 30, and they kept asking me if I was pregnant... I said "YEAH, if it's the second immaculate conception!!"
I get home and there's a message on my answering machine - it's the lab telling me to call them immedately. I'm FLIPPING out and Carl's at work, so I call back and the nurse tells me she can't tell me anything and the Dr. is out right now, so I'm going to have to wait for him to call back. I'm thinking I have like cancer or something, so I start bawling and call Carl.
He comes home from work, and just as he walks in the door, the phone rings. i answer and it's the Dr, telling me I can't have surgery as scheduled... i say why the hell not, and he says "Well, your bloodwork came back and you're HcG (I had NO IDEA what this was at the time) levels are elevated... I'm yelling WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?! and he says "well, you're pregnant... REALLY pregnant in fact, you really need to schedule an OB appointment!". So I start bawling and yelling and Carl's like WTF?! So I'm like ********* I'M PREGNANT! And the blood just ran out of his face - we kinda sat there for a minute, then I'm like CRAP my parents think I'm having surgery in 3 days, so I made Carl call my mom and tell her and she told my dad! They were NOT happy at first but they got over that quickly and came out to our house to talk.
It was a ROUGH day but I wouldn't change it for the world, I have the most beautiful, amazing baby girl ever!!
luvbug00 replied: Wow Jackie! what a story!
I have the Baby fever HARD CORE! LOL! unfortunately nothing to share though..
Jackie012007 replied: I feel you Nadia, I'm having some SERIOUS baby fever myself!!!!
My3LilMonkeys replied: DH told me both times. He must have a 6th sense for it, he knew before I did.
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Greg was with me when I took the test...my period was 2 days late and my boobs were super sore..it was his idea that I take the test he was quite sure I was prego.
I was really nervous about telling my dad, I didnt know how he would react. So I got a bib that said I love My Grampa and a congrats grandparent card and wrote a little note in it announcing I was pregnant. He loved it and thought it was such a cute way to find out.
I dont know how I will announce when I get pregnant with #2 I guess it will depend on if Greg is with me when I find out. Id like my mom to be with me this time when I take the hpt since she was living out of state for my first pregnancy. So maybe make a cute sign for Alex to hold that says Im going to be a big brother and have him show dh. We'll see. It's so exciting planning every detail!
ZandersMama replied: with Zander, I knew. right away. got out of bed, took the test, woke curt and said im preggo and went back to sleep lol. I was absolutely sure and wasnt suprised at all.
with Zavier, there was only one nite i could have got preggo and i thought there was no way it could have happened. curt was in the shower one nite and i went in to pee, and there was a pregnancy test left over from when i miscarried. i had put on a few pounds and it just kind of clicked when i saw the test. i pulled back the shower curtain and said holy @#%& i'm pregnant. lol. the next day i made a sign that said i'm going to be a big brother and had Zan hold it and took pictures. I made a few dozen prints and gave them to everyone. a few people didnt catch on till weeks later lol.
Crystalina replied: The first time I just blurted it out.
The second time DH wasn't home when I found out so when he came home I gave Izabella the stick to give to him. He was watching t.v. and Izabella walked over to him (she was not yet 2) and said, "Daddy. Daaaaaady! Mommy say TAKE!" and she threw it at him. It fell behind him on the couch and as he's reaching for it he's telling her it's not nice to throw things at Daddy's head and he didn't even realize what she threw until he placed it on the coffee table in front of him. He put it down and was still telling her how throwing isn't nice when it caught his eye what she threw.
My2Beauties replied: I took both of my tests at work because I didn't want to alarm DH by buying a test if it was false (I was on BC with both of my kids). So each time I called him when I found out and was like um...you're gonna be a daddy again! The first time it was pure silence. We kind of knew both times because I was late with Hanna and I was having some weird things going on with Aubrey. So he knew before I even took the tests anyways. He told his mom and dad before I even took a test that they were going to have a new grandbaby again.
Bamamom replied: DH is a HUGE Alabama fan and so when we started trying I bought an Alabama baby bottle. Skip ahead a month - I'm not even late but take one of those "5 day's sooner!" and it comes up BFP! So I fill up the baby bottle with water and put it where he keeps his water bottle in the fridge. He came home from running (he runs after work each day), reached for his water bottle and pulled out the AL baby bottle. His reaction was "What's does this mean?" I said, "I got two lines.", He said, "What does that mean? I think he was just being deliberatly difficult. When it finally clicked he got all teary and stuff.
Katie Grace was not as expected - we weren't trying but we weren't preventing either. So on the way home from church I told him we need to run by and get a test that I was feeling funny. I was so shocked when it came back positive that I just came out of the bathroom and said, "Tripp's going to be a big brother." Then we grabbed Tripped and started dancing around with him - keep in mind he was only 7 months old - completely clueless
