How did you deliver?

Mommieto2Girls wrote: I had an emergency c-section. dry.gif

If I missed something please specify and just let us know what you had.

Schnoogly replied: I had vaginal with epidural and vacuum. (natural generally means unmedicated to me--no epidural)

¤Heather¤ replied: My epidural didn't work and I ended up being parlyzed for 2 days and had a lot of walking problems for several months. Long story...but it was very painful. ALmost had to go to an emergency C-section, pushed for 4 hours. (there was no way I was letting them use forceps or vacuum**way too risky)

chloe&tysmommy replied: I delivered vaginally, with of course the epi! I started having contractions 2 days before I delivered and I'm talking like every 5-10 mins here! I went to the hospital twice and they sent me home both times saying that I wasn't ready! So when I finally went in the third day (the contractions were killer by then) the nurse started the IV and asked if I would like an epi- I was like 'yes please, please, please'. Gotta love that epidural LOL. thumb.gif

Sorry for rambling on! tongue.gif

mustangmomma1981 replied: I delivered vaginal and they gave me some kind of medication. But I do not remember what it was. All I remember I got it through a IV. But I know it wasn't epidural. Wish I could remember.

supermom replied: Let's see -

1st one - Emergency C section after induction (2+ weeks late)

2nd one - vaginally with local anesthesia w/forceps after lots and lots of pushing

3rd one - vaginally with local anesthesia

4th one - Emergency C section after epidural and total dialation

5th one - HOPEFULLY - vaginally with epidural - teehee - wishful thinking

Mommieto2Girls replied: Got my fingers crossed for you supermom. smile.gif

Schnoogly replied:
I know what you mean, I pushed for 2.5 hrs. I got him about an inch from out but he was sunny side up and his ears were stuck. They only used the vacuum once (one big pull) and he was out. He did have an abrasion and big lump from it though--I really wish I had been able to push him all the way.

catou_98 replied: I had a planned c-section for september 9, but my water broke sept 5, so much for planning! ohmy.gif

supermom replied:
So did you have a c-section, then? But not a planned one?

MommyToAshley replied: I had wanted to go all natural with no epi, but when I was 6 cm dialated, I was in so much pain I was shaking all over. I asked the nurse how much longer she thought it would be and she said it could be 4 HOURS! ohmy.gif So, I asked for the epi. I got it right away, and Ashley was born 20 minutes later. LOL rolling_smile.gif

THey did have to use the vacuum to get her out quickly because her heartrate kept dropping.

kit_kats_mom replied: I went no drugs at all for the full 12 hours. I have a MAJOR needle phobia therefore no epi. They had to use the vaccum to get her out though because of her heartrate so they used a shot of some numbing stuff for the episiotomy. If it weren't for that, I would have been completely drug free.

dolfinrse replied: I had a vaginal delivery with epi, but then Zachary got stuck on my pelvic bone and they had to use the vacuum.

catou_98 replied:
yes they still did a c-section, I got at the hospital at 5:30 am, they called the surgeon, got me prep and everything and camille was born 3 hours after my water broke...she was a breech baby that's why i had a planned section! wink.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: emergency c-section sad.gif after 2 hours of pushing her heart rate droped to the 60's and they had to get her out, I was glad I had the epi by that time! She was also sunny side up!

mckayleesmom replied: I had an emergency c-section,,they gave me a regular epi but it didn't work so they had to knock me completely out so I slept throught the whole thing,,,,I didn't see her until a couple hours later when I woke up.

~CrazieMama~ replied: Well, I had a vaginal with both my kids. I got demerol with both, but let me tell you, when I had my son, I would have swore that I got nothing. I didn't do anything!!!!!! With my daughter, it happened so fast that, when I got it it was not really worth getting cause I was not really in much pain at all, but they told me that if I wanted to get reliefI had to get it then. I could have gone without. But I did not know how long I was gonna be in labor for.

MomofTay&Sam replied: I had a planned c-section.

MomToMany replied: Mine were all vaginal, and I had an epideral with Logan and Ethan. Otherwise the others were drug-free, at least until aftert he birth. I had A LOT of pain with Hannah, because I had extra bleeding with her.

I had episiotomies with the first two, but not the last two. Ethan was a 9 pounder, and I couldn't believe the Dr. didn't need to cut me happy.gif !

Hillbilly Housewife replied: I had a shot of Demerol about 10 minutes before I delivered...so it didn't take effect until he was stiching my 2 stiches. tongue.gif

booey2 replied: Matthew was by induction, some nubane for pain and then an epi, vaginally delivered. Thomas was another story, I was 7cm before the epi was given and then the nurse kept saying I didn't need it cause I was doing so well. ya right. He also came vaginally.

ediep replied: I had an epidural, pushed for 4 hours, the had the vacuum to get this dude out!!

jdkjd replied: Induced with pitocin then had to get epidural after my water was broken. Then out she came (vaginally).

jcc64 replied: Alec- natural all the way
Noah-natural all the way
Corey- had the epidural, then delivered her 10 minutes later. Had a very bad time with the drugs, couldn't even hold her after. Would not do that again, although there probably won't be another one.

paradisemommy replied: i was hoping for a vaginal delivery but blessed with a c-section and i say blessed because he was 8 lbs. 6 oz. i am 5' 2" and 115 lbs so i think i would have ripped from hole to hole had i went the other way.. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif sorry if that's tmi tongue.gif

Boys r us replied: natural with an epi all 3 times, but the epi only worked once, with my 2nd child!

PrairieMom replied: Ben, vaginal, no epidural, but had an episiotomy and vacuum extraction

Al, Vaginal, no epidural, put had and episiotomy and vacuum extraction

Charlie, Vaginal, no epidural, episiotomy.

moped replied: 2 sections, one emergency, the other planned sleep.gif

Our Lil' Family replied:
Same here

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Andrew - vaginal with nubane and an epi, and they had to use suction.

Allie - natural vaginal birth with no drugs. Painful, but MUCH easier than the problems the drugs caused me! thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied: Kylie - planned induction but unplanned c-section, epi (obviously, lol)

Megan - she decided to come a month early tongue.gif herself, vaginal, epi, episiotomy.

ZandersMama replied: Zander - all natural not even an advil. i would do it again in a heartbeat

Zavier - emergency c-section at 26 weeks, alot of drugs, i don't even know what most of them were for, they very nearly lost us both, but it was a few days before i came out of the haze. i remember some kind of liquid morphine, but that was mostly to keep me from moving i think.

luvbug00 replied: out the frount door with epi..no plans to ever do it again..ohh the pain!

kimberley replied: Jacob - vag and epi... should have used forceps cuz he was stuck for an hour but they didn't blink.gif

James - vag and epi too late... didn't work til he was out dry.gif

Jade - induced vag and epi... horrible experience

Kaleigh and Riley - natural vag

eta: no episiotomy for any... stitches for all but 1

kimberley replied:
i said the same thing until my 8lb 11oz big-headed son! lol rolling_smile.gif

ZandersMama replied:
rolling_smile.gif well all i have to compare it to was Zavier and that was just a mess. i had a classical section that was horrible to heal, was so medicated i couldnt talk, idiot surgeon that botched it so i can't have more children....uterus infection.

kimberley replied:
sad.gif oh no, sorry i didn't know. yes, natural is much better than what you went thru! hug.gif

but i still say a swig of vodka or something should be required for big babies. happy.gif

MoonMama replied: Vag all natural.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke - vaginal with an epi that didn't really work, just made my leg numb for 3 hours

Madison - vaginal with no drugs

Bobby - vaginal with a shot of something ( I don't remember what) that was supposed to make me relax but instead made me hot as he** and made the room spin.

msoulz replied: first: vaginally, epi worked too well and I couldn't feel to push, so forecepts were used. Took MONTHS to recover and feel normal. But my son was great.

second: vaginally, epi worked perfectly, a few pushes and she was outta there!

boyohboyohboy replied: caleb was completely natural with no help at all no drugs.
Jakob was induced, then pitocin, and an epi..that never worked..
Andrew was a c section.
I think I have done it all smile.gif

julesmom replied: #1..scheduled induction that didn't work, turned into a c-section

#2 was a scheduled c-section

#3 was scheduled to be another c-section, but I went into labor early so it became an emergency c-section.

mummy2girls replied:
i hear ya.. breanna was 10lbs 7 oz and her shoulders got stuck so THANK GOD i had been numb....

mummy2girls replied: Jordan... vaginally with epidural

Jenna ... vaginally with epidural

Breanna..vaginallyw ith epidural( almost emergency c-section)
