Hillbilly Housewife replied: Well I'm not pg yet... but what I did last time was this.... we got married at the JP, then later on, we went shopping, to get some food for our guests that night... as we are passing through the isles, I see tampons...and realized I hadn't bought any this months... then did a quick calculation...I was 2 weeks overdue!!!! I guess I completely forgot about that with all the planning of the party in honor of our marriage....

So while we were there, we bought a test... and it turned positive as soon as I took it!

With this baby, DH is going to find out like this:

As soon as I suspect I am pg, I,ll suggest to DH that we have a informal family dinner, with both sets of parents (although my MIL may not be invited if she doesn't smarten up), and I'll make Zach wear one of those t-shirts that say "I'm going to be the big brother!!" and see what everyone says, including DH.

MomToMany replied: Well, I said this in another post, but I'll repeat it.

I had a hunch that I was, so I went & got a test. My mom stopped over so I could see my niece who was staying at grandma's for awhile. I did the test right before she pulled in the driveway. So I went and checked the results ( it was + before I even left the bathroom!), just to make sure I was seeing correctly! I never told my mom, and I still haven't (YET). I sent DH an e-mail at work saying I had a surprise for you at lunchtime (he comes home for lunch everyday). Well, he never got his e-mail because he said he was busy working ( yaking with the other supervisors is more like it!). So when he came home, I kept giving him these looks. I told him, "Guess what YOU did?". Then I showed him the + test. The first thing he said was, "Are you mad at me?". I said no, of course not! It was just such a surprise, but one of the best ones you can get !

He did make me take another one about a week later, because he said the first one was very light and he could barely see it. The second one was SO dark, you'd have to be blind to miss it!

jdkjd replied: Ryan was out running some errands, and when he came in the door-I went up to him and gave him a big hug and said I love you. He asked "What did you do..." then said "You're pregnant aren't you!!" He was a little freaked out but I think after the initial shock we have both started to be excited.

He's already told the whole world. Kind of funny.

It didn't quite turn out that way. I had bought some tests online (cheap - it's only the paper, not the whole stick...comes down to a few dollars each instead of the 15-20$ they make you pay here....

3 days before I was "due" for AF I tested. It was VERY VERY faint, so I showed him. He said - test again in 3 days, see what happens. I did, and it was an insta-positive!

That was all....no big surprise or anything.... lol

Keyjo50 replied: Ha! I made him read the stick b/c it was a faint BFP. He didn't get real excited, just was like "Oh cool".

LOL -- he doesn't get excited until the first u/s.

I got up and took my first response and when He got up to go to work that morning at 7 am I showed him the test!!
We were both happy and excited!!

MomofTay&Sam replied: We both kind of new for a few days..On a Thursday morning after my DS went to school we took the test together. Postive! We both called in sick and just talked about our new baby all day.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: This is how I told DH I was pg!! I wanted his pride and joy to be able to tell him, but I knew she would be asleep when he got home so I took this picture and gave it to him. The look on his face was priceless!!

dolfinrse replied: I had this feeling that I was pg. so I told dh we needed to take a test. The one in the afternoon was so faint you couldn't even read it. So we decided to take another one first thing in the am, well, I was so excited that I woke up around 5 am and couldn't wait anymore and took the test and it came back positive. I ran into our room and jumped on the bed and told dh to read the stick. He looked at me like I was crazy and told me to go back to bed. I convinced him to read the test for me. He was so excited that neither one of us went back to sleep.
