mckayleesmom wrote: Ok...I really love this Donney and Bourke purse that is at the px and want it for my birthday....dh said he was at the mall yesterday looking at those and Coach purses......Now I pronounce it like Bork,,,but he says its pronounced like Berk. Which is it......?? BTW...this isn't a Im right hes wrong type thing....honestly I have never heard of the brand until I saw the purse I loved at the px and realized it was a designer purse....not usually my THANG.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I would pronounce it BERK...or BURK.
jdkjd replied: I just called the Dooney and Bourke hotline and they pronounce it like "Berk"
coasterqueen replied: I put other because I've never tried to pronounce it. I don't even know who that is? Purse maker? I'm terrible, when I started having kids I quit looking at fashion and all the trinkets because of expense. I used to LOVE purses.
luvbug00 replied: i love purses!!!!
3xsthefun replied: LOL! I have no idea! I have never heard of Dooney and Bourke before.
mckayleesmom replied: Usually my purses come from Walmart or Target.....I didn't know it was a designer purse until I turned the tag over ....I put it back and thought NO WAY, but I can't get it out of my head....and my birthday and anniversary are coming up....so why not.....I delivered 2 babies via c-section....I deserve a 200 dollar purse.
mckayleesmom replied: Thanks....then I was saying it wrong....who knew
MM'sMama replied: thats one of my worst habbits lol DH is always saying "good god honey how many purses do you need?"
My2Beauties replied: I have a Coach purse I love designer purses but this is the first one I have ever had - MIL got it for me for Christmas. I pronounce it Berk by the way - that is how they say it in the shops that sell them. I can't believe it wasn't behind glass girl - when you go to Dillard's and stuff all the Coach purses and the D&B purses are behind the counter in the glass!
mckayleesmom replied: Well they do alot of things here on post differently.....like you can go up and get your own ciggarettes and stuff and they leave the cartons in the isle...Probably because if you are a soldier and get caught steeling...you are dead meat....and if your spouse gets caught steeling....the soldier is still dead meat.
ammommy replied: It used to be that way here, too. Stores have gone to open units with sensors on the tags so that customers don't have to wait for someone to help them if they just want to look. The only stores that don't do that seem to be the ones who can actually spend a decent amount of $$ on payroll (minor vent from my pre-child life!)
My2Beauties replied: Cigarettes not behind the counter I don't think I have seen that since I was a kid!
mckayleesmom replied: ya...the cartons are in the isles like groceries....and packs...you can walk up and get...they have them at the end of the registers at the px.
