How does you baby sleep? - Sleep positions

ediep wrote: Jason usually sleeps on his back, but lately since he is becoming an expert roller, he rolls to his side. Last night he was on his side for so long that he woke up with an irritated cheek.

booey2 replied: Both boys started on their sides, as I was afraid they would choke on their saliva if they were on their backs and as soon as the could roll around they sleep every which way. Thomas will sleep on his stomach with his little bum up in the air.

amynicole21 replied: I voted "other" because there was no "all of the above" option! Sophia is a crazy rolling sleeper. Each time you look at her she is in another position. rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
This is Ashley too! I also voted other.

supermom replied: Once I would FINALLY get him to sleep, he would sleep on his back - giggle - and he still does

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Definitely belly. He'll only sleep on his back if we're cuddling on the couch or in bed. Then he's sorta reclining...cuz we have huge pillows everywhere. if we put him on his back (flat) he wakes up.

Kaitlin'smom replied: I am also other. Kaitlin used to sleep on her back but now that she rolls she is in all sorts of positions! I never know how I will find her in the am! My favorite is when she is on her side with the top leg floped over and kinda sucking her thumb. I have a picuture of it, when I get home I will re size it and post it.

dolfinrse replied: During the day, we put Zachary on his belly when we can keep an eye on him. He likes to bury his face in the mattress. At night, we put him on his back.

MommyToAshley replied:
I found Ashley face down in her matress once or twice... it really scared me!!!

I have also seen her crawl across her bed in her sleep and fall asleep sitting up in her crib. Poor baby.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I put her on her back and she always ends up on her side! Silly BABY! I figure as soon as she starts rolling she will be a tummy sleeper! wub.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied:

sounds cute!

MommyToAshley replied:
I thought it was cute too until she fell over and bumped her lil' head bawling.gif

Schnoogly replied: Iain sleeps on his side, always has. They started putting him on his side in the hospital b/c he could breathe better that way and he liked it. Now he will roll onto his back occasionally but usually he is on his side, facing me in bed. With his face in my armpit. Guess he doesn't mind the stinky!!

amynicole21 replied:

Sophia does this, too! I always feel so badly for her when I wake up and her little nose is buried in my pit! rolling_smile.gif

MomToMany replied: smile.gif Hannah sleeps in whatever position is comfortable for her! But when she was a baby, I always put her on her stomach. It's the only way she would stay asleep. I know about SIDS, and Back To Sleep, but she could never sleep like that, no matter what I did or how I swaddled her. All my kids were like that, so it's probably genetic!

Mommieto2Girls replied: Maddie used to sleep on her back but not no more, I put her to sleep on her back and within 5 minutes she is on her stomach, I keep flipping her back over but she is a stubborn baby. I try to get her to sleep on her side to, that last a little while but it's back to her tummy she goes.

Kaitlin'smom replied:

awww than its no fun bawling.gif

~CrazieMama~ replied: Brianna is a side sleeper. No matter how she falls asleep, she always within minutes turns to her side.

mummyof2boyz replied: I would have to say belly. Although he does sleep on his side sometimes. DS#1 slept on his belly too. But I started to have him sleep with me or make him sleep on his back after my cousins 2mo old baby died of SIDS and I was soooooo paranoyed. But with Hayden he got used to sleeping on his belly cause he had colic and I would use a hot water bottle in his bassinet and I would lay him on his belly on top of it to help his feel better. But for the most part he is a roller. smile.gif

momofajcl replied: Nicholas is a belly sleeper. I noticed last night that he likes his blankets. It was hot in his room last night so I hung his blanket on the side of the crib. I put him down and he immediately crawled to the blanket and grabbed a hold of it, stuck his thumb in his mouth and fell asleep. He's using the blanket as a security thing I guess. This is my first child who has been attached to a blanket! LOL!

maestra replied: Jaci sleeps on her belly too. I used to sleep in her room with her because I was so scared of sids. But after three days of absolutely no sleep because we kept putting her on her back, we gave in and let her sleep on her stomach. I am still afraid, and check on her every time I get up, but now she can easily roll over so I don't worry so much.
