How does your baby soothe him/her self?

Kaitlin'smom wrote: Kaitlin is a thumb sucker. I think its cute!

I have been told it wil be hard to break her of it. wink.gif

~CrazieMama~ replied: Brianna is a binky soother. baby.gif

amynicole21 replied: We would all be insane without Sophia's paci. wacko.gif

mckayleesmom replied: sometimes its her thumb, or her binky,,or her whole wrist, or sometimes she likes her head and nose rubbed,,,that usually puts her to sleep.

Mommieto2Girls replied: Maddie uses a binky. I can't wait to get rid of it . One day we will. biggrin.gif

ediep replied: Jason used to take a paci, then he started sucking his thumb, but now he doesn't do either. He does need a blankie to go to sleep.

Schnoogly replied: Soothe himself??? You've got to be kidding LOL!!!

Seriously, he likes to suck on his fingers mostly for fun, not for soothing.

I guess I should vote 'other' for MY NIPPLES!

supermom replied: I'm with Steph - my boobies!! LOL!!!

MomToMany replied: laugh.gif Lol, I'd have to say my boobies, too! It's the only way to get her calmed down!

Kaitlin'smom replied: okay I guess I should have made boobies a choise. laugh.gif When all else fails that works for Kaitlin also.

KatieLeigh79 replied: ..Glad to know John isn't the only one that has no idea how to soothe himself - i thought it was his age, but im getting the impression he may never learn how blink.gif Right now it seems to be my chest every hour and besides that rocking him in a rocking chair 24/7 so he can sleep with an eye open to be sure i didn't lay him down.

catou_98 replied: Camille was a paci baby up until she was 3 months old, then she found her thumb and at around 5 months she got attached to her pink blankie, so now when she holds her blankie, in goes the thumb! wub.gif

booey2 replied: Okay I think my kids must be different because neither of them use anything to pacify them. They are pretty calm kids.

¤Heather¤ replied: Alison has never had a paci. She use to suck her fingers when she was younger. She also use to pull at her face when she was upset. Now she pulls her hair. Strange!!

dolfinrse replied: Zachary only uses his binkie for about 5 minutes and then spits it out. He will only take the binkie from the hospital. The one that looks like a bottle nipple.

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley won't take a pacifier. When she was about 4 months old, I tried to give it to her again to see if she would take it and she pulled it out of her mouth and tried to stick it in mine. If I give her one now, she only bites it.

She only sucks on her fingers/thumb when she is teething.

As for soothing herself, I am not sure... she will wake up at night, whine for a few seconds and then put herself back to sleep. When I lay her in bed, I stand there and sing to her, she does not go to sleep on her own. But, I don't mind, I like tucking her in. smile.gif
