How have they embarassed you in public?

When we were on vacation we were at a restaurant and the bus boy (man, actually) scared Kylie. She looked at him when he waved at her and started crying and said "man...scared...scared mommy" as she was pointing at him. rolleyes.gif

The man had some facial deformities and also had eyesight problems. His eyes were a bit cross-eyed and he wore coke-bottle thick glasses.

Ryan and I were trying to shush her and tell her he was not scary that he was a nice man waving at her, but she wouldn't stop saying it. sad.gif blush.gif

I felt so awful just thinking how that made that man feel. Ryan said he probably understands and I'm sure he does but if I was him I'd still feel awful. He was being so kind to Kylie and she just didn't understand. blush.gif sad.gif

Any stories of those embarassing moments you've encountered yet since they are talking????

amynicole21 replied: Poor Kylie! It's so hard to explain those things. sad.gif Sophia hasn't necessarily done anything to embarass me YET, but I fully expect it to happen at any minute. blush.gif

paradisemommy replied: we, luckily, don't have any embarrassing stories either. my little talker absolutely clams up and won't say a word around people he doesn't know. woo hooo for me!!! thumb.gif

maestra replied: Yes, Jaci screaming through the entire ultrasound! I know they could hear her out in the waiting room. I bet a few first time moms wished they could change their minds when they heard that! rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Aweee, poor Kylie, I am sure she just didn't understand. grouphug.gif

The incident that comes to mind for me is when we were at the grocery store and a lady close by us had passed some gas... Ashley kept pointing at her saying that she "tooted" The further we got away from the lady, the louder Ashley got, she just kept pointing at her, "Mommy, that girl TOOTED!" blush.gif blush.gif

momof2girls replied: Funny stories!!!

I have so many stories....

Azaria was just always loud asking a million questions about everything..

Kiley farts or poops and makes loud noises everytime we are in public and now when she farts she laughs... its a bit embarassing!!!

lsjulee replied: Oh no, mine was terribly embarressing.

You know we have mixed races here - the Chinese, the Malays and the Indians.

When Xin was young, she didn't quite understand yet why the different skin colors of people around us. So we noticed she would pinch her nose whenever she was with the Indians. We had hit her hand a few times, reprimanding how rude she was. Then of last, she cried out "they didn't bathe, look how black in dirt they are!" user posted image

Fortunately that time, Xin blared out in Chinese and till today I really hope and pray that those Indians didn't understand Chinese. blush.gif

(footnote: this is just my embarressing story to share, I have in no intention to offend. emlaugh.gif )

DansMom replied: This may not qualify as super-embarrassing, but whenever I'm out with Daniel and he sees a skinny older fella with grayish hair, a beard and a ponytail, he points and yells out "DaDa!" He doesn't think it's dada, I've figured out, but he's letting me know that the guy is similar to dada.

What really embarrasses me is the full-out, passionate, thrashing temper tantrums that he's capable of whenever we have to leave a place when he's having a grand old time there. He'll lunge and pretend bite me (he has stopped actually biting me at least), and I can see the look of other parents around me thinking "wow, that woman's child is totally out of control", and I want to say---"hey, he's usually an angel!!"

Last but not least, lately (only in the last three days), he's been mocking our voices when we say something in a worried or disciplinary tone of voice. I wanted him to come down from a small hill on a neighbor's lawn, and so I was calling his name, and he mimicked my tone exactly while smiling his head off. He's so mischievous these days, such a handful, but so smart too.

Kaitlin'smom replied: ohmy.gif rolling_smile.gif some funny ones. I cant think of any yet but I am sure there will be some

Mailes_mommy replied: hmm embarassing I have gotten over it since I had a baby I use to be very modest but I still nurse openly in public but we were in the store the other day and maile yelled BOOBY it was actually more funny then embarassing but im sure my time will come
