How long were you trying befor you actually got pregnant?

This is my first month trying. I just finished my calculated ovulation on Saturday and I am axiously awaiting to find out.

It is weird, I spent so many years trying not to get pregnant...now I feel obcessed with getting pregnant.

Cece00 replied: I didnt try for any of my 3 boys...they were all BIG surprises. Especially my youngest.

We were about to start month #4 when we found out we were pregnant for our daughter.

ZandersMama replied: My first we were preggers first try, this time DH was away for 5 weeks and we didnt have anything on hand when he got home.........i'm due in december

mckayleesmom replied: We are very lucky that we didn't have to try with either. It just happened, not that we were taking percautions for it not to happen though...

wcs40110 replied: I was on depo for about 2 1/2 years beforehand. I was off it for about 8 or so months. We wenr't really trying but we were using a withdrawl method that's not so reliable. I belive its the one time we didn't use it that little Dakota was made just due to the guessed conception date. I just think its kinda weird knowing which time made the baby If all else fails pretend you DONT want a kid and you'll get one

i always used some form of bc, be it condoms or pills or the shot. depends on the person i guess. and it was not even a month after the depo shot i got pg.

Boys r us replied: With my first 2 they were suprises!

This baby, we've wanted for a long time! We had no problem getting pregnant, just staying that way! We always got PG the 1st cycle, but I had 2 early miscarriages. Then in February, we tried again(2 weeks after our 2nd m/c) and here I am...8 months pregnant!

MyLuvBugs replied: Unfortunately we weren't trying with both our girls. If we were....we would have waited a little bit longer for both of them. But they had different plans I guess. Lorelei was conceived b/c we weren't using any protection, and Lexi....well, apparently you actually have to use the condoms in order not to become PG. LOL Who knew!?!? So...not trying but apparently not hindering either.

Jolyn replied: With my first son we tried with the help of infertility doctors for over four years. It was a difficult journey.

We were shocked when we found out we were preggers with our second son. He was a surprise baby!

I am an only child. My mom was 17 when I was born. I am now 32, so it has been quite a while since she was pregnant! And the majority of people in my family never "planned" for their children.

Last month we had a "scare" and thought I was pregnant. When it turned out I wasn't, we were both disappointed. We grew to really want our non-baby! So, we decided to try to have one. It is my 1st month trying. It is nerve wracking!

We BD 3 times over the 1 week time-period that my doc told me I was most likely to get pregnant. Now I am waiting. Waiting, waiting. AF is due 9/27. I know it is too early to test, but I did it anyway. It was negative, which I know means nothing because it is way too early to do a HPT.

I have my fingers crossed. My mom turns 50 on 10/1 and I think it would be an awesome birthday present to tell her she is getting a grandchild! The next 6 days will be loooooooooooooong.

PrairieMom replied: I thought I replied to this a long time ago! We concieved The Boy on our first try, it was Sept 11, 2002. We had a swing and a miss with The Girl, but succeded on our second try and Concieved her on Sept 23 2005. I really wanted them to have birthdays that were close together.

Our Lil' Family replied: 6 LONG months! Got off the pill in January, conceived end of June or late July.

My2Beauties replied: Both were shockers. With the first one I had only stopped taking BC for a month because my prescrip ran out and I couldn't get into the docs, 3 days before my Gyno appt to get a new prescrip I found out I was preggers We were using the withdrawal method as well - it doesn't work Then with this one, I was actually on the pill, I started to get nauseated on them and stopped taking them, so when I first found out I thought I had gotten preggo when I had stopped taking them because of my nausea, but I had never started so I wasn't sure when I actually got preggers. Just had an u/s the other day that determined matter of fact I was on the pill when it happened, so DH is getting clipped after this kid
