How long does your toddler...
ilovemybaby wrote: take to eat all their breakfast, lunch and dinner? Abby has been in her highchair for ages. She hasn't finished yet. Lets just say it's been over 30 minutes. She is sitting there slowly chewing on a piece of toast.
jacobsmama replied: Well, After I get done eating then I turn to him and say do you want mommy to help you?? Most of the time he says yes and then it moves along faster but once we all get up he will say he is done even if he isn't. So I guess it is better that she takes longer and eats then says she is done when she really isnt. Isn't it fun to watch them eat?
MyLuvBugs replied: OH yeah!! Lorelei will sit there and eat her breakfast all through Blues Clues and sometimes even through the Backyardigans in the morning (so Almost an hour). Drives me NUTS!! But then there's days when I set her down for lunch, and it's gone even before I can sit down to eat mine. We're trying to get her on a schedule so that she's only sitting and eating when we sit down and eat, and then if she's not done....too bad, so sad. But that's only if we've already had a long mealtime (45+ minutes).
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I've never really thought about it. IMO, I wouldn't want to be rushed while I eat, so I don't rush my kiddo. I suppose I have noticed him taking longer if we have tv on, but I truly don't mind having the extra time to get some things done while he's eating.
ediep replied: jason takes forever to eat too
AlexsPajamaMama replied: It depends on what it is and how hungry he is I guess. I havent really paid attention to if he takes a "long time" or not.
lisar replied: My 5 yr old takes forever. A good 30-45min to eat dinner at night. I hate it. I am always done and wanting to clean up but I am waiting on her.
Lexismama replied: Lexi must be the odd one out. She usually only takes about 20 min or so for each meal, if that! She LOVES to eat but she is a quick eater like mommy. Guess she dosnt want to waste any play time~
b&bsmom replied: I wish my ds would sit long enough to eat. He takes two bites and is done. too much to do. he is not a big eater. dd is a little better but doesn't take more than 5 or 10 min usually.
C&K*s Mommie replied: The girls for the most part are done at a max of 15min. Sometimes they ask for seconds, and that may take more time. But usually 10min is average.
mckayleesmom replied: ditto
ilovemybaby replied: I've noticed breakfast takes the longest... because she is watching cartoons. Lunch she is usually finished in about 5 or 10 minutes. Dinner takes about 30 minutes sometimes longer. I don't like to rush her or take her food off her before she is finished so I just leave her until she is only playing with the food and drawing pictures in it
A&A'smommy replied: breakfast usually doesn't take very long but then again if she has already had milk or drank all of her juice, lunch takes a little longer and dinner takes forever
3xsthefun replied: I'm not really sure how long it takes for Maegan. I guess it just depends how hungry she is.
Cece00 replied: My oldest child is sllloowwwwww. Plus he chatters wayyyy too much @ meal time
My younger son will eat @ a good pace, doesnt really talk a lot, play around, etc.
