How many did you get

Kaitlin'smom wrote: if you passed out treats, how many trick-or-treaters did you get?

oh and another question about what % would you say of the loot had nuts or peanutbutter?

grapfruit replied: My FIL was severly disappointed at the number of TOTers. He LOVES giving out candy (spends like $300+ on candy) He always gives BIG hand fulls (notice the s after hand full). By about 7:30 he was giving 1/2 a bag or more per kid. LoL! And an kid that looks tired he'll give an entire bag too them b/c "there's no sense in them having to be out late walking around just to get a bunch of candy" happy.gif You should of seen some of the kids faces!!

His favorite Halloween moment was when he gave probably an entire bag of candy to a boy w/down syndrome. The boy's eyes got about as big as saucers and he dropped his bag right there on the porch and hugged him. bawling.gif God I'm a sap! laugh.gif

moped replied: Isn't Halloween tonight???? wink.gif

grapfruit replied:
For some reason Begger's night is never the same night as Halloween dunno.gif

In my town, it was Sunday 2-4 (which was beautiful weather)

luvmykids replied: So you TOT on Beggars night instead of Halloween? I've never had TOTers the night before Halloween around here, is it coordinated by your city or is that just how everyone does it where you live?

mom21kid2dogs replied: Our Trick or Treat was Sunday as well. We gave out our 500 pieces of candy in less than an hour.

Don't really pay attention to nuts as O doesn't have the issue. There were plenty of nut based stuff in there, I guess~things like Resses pieces , candy PB sticks. unsure.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: must have been around here then we had TOT last night as most did around here. I was a bit suprised it was not tonight, not sure really why it was that way.

I had a whoppping 7 kids thats it. I was so dissapointed. I never get many cause we are the only ones on our Cul-de-sac who give out and you can see our house from the end so unless you walk 1/2 down you dont know we are there.

and I woudl say almost 50% of Kaitlins goodies has nuts or peanutbetter in it.

grapfruit replied:
The city (or in my case county) decides which night is beggers night. That's the ONLY TOT night. It's published in the papers and it's on all the news channels (including websites).

We always have to pay attention when the time comes to know which night it is. B/c sometimes it's not just the night before, usually it's the Thursday before...

moped replied:
You learn soemthing new everyday - I have never heard of such a thing, and not sure I would like it either.......

But glad you all are good with it

grapfruit replied:
tongue.gif It's been that way since I was little, so I guess I didn't realize everyone else did things differently!!

I was surprised that my town (I just moved here in May) did theirs on Sunday...although I don't altogether think it's a bad idea. People are home on Sunday, it's after church (2pm-4pm) and it's day light. Plus the kids aren't out to late w/school the next day.

Calimama replied: Kids don't come until tonight. wink.gif

moped replied:
I have just never heard of NOT going out on the actual night of Halloween......
