How many different languages do you speak?

5littleladies replied: I'm lucky that I can speak English. I can squeak out a few words in Spanish-but not very well. I'm language illiterate.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Umm.... English. I took some Spanish in high school but (like most everything else I learned in school ) not much of it stayed with me.
Mommy2BAK replied: haha, I am with the rest of you all, I am doing good to speak english, although I did take spanish in highschool but hardly remember anything. But however.... I do speak the occasional red neck! LOL
3xsthefun replied: Just English here, I can say a few in Spanish... I took French in high school but I can't remember any of it.
ammommy replied: I speak English, cna understand limited Spanish and can almost fluently understand Ukranian (can't speak it anymore, though).
MomToMany replied: I speak only English, but can understand Toddlerese pretty well .
coasterqueen replied: I was going to say that too. I know a tiny, and a do mean a tiny bit of french that I remember from my 2 years of french lessons in highschool.
I know how to count to 10 in Spanish and am learning a few words from Dora.
Do cusswords count as a language, because at times I can really speak this language too.
chloe&tysmommy replied: I speak English and took French in school but only remember a few words and numbers.......oh and some Spanish thanks to Dora
chloe&tysmommy replied:

5littleladies replied: Oohhh I forgot about sign language. I used to be pretty good at SL but not so much anymore.
ROFL at everyone learning spanish from Dora!!
gr33n3y3z replied: english and some spanish words
paradisemommy replied: well, i took about 3 or 4 years of spanish in high school and was fluent - went away to a foreign language camp 2 years in a row where we could only speak the language we were there for but also had to learn conversational french and german so we could speak to the other students. BUT..that was about 18 years ago..egad..so i'm a little rusty but can still understand a lot.
i also speak conversational japanese (took a course in college) and of course my native - taiwanese but only a few words here and there that we were taught growing up..oh and since i've been here in hawaii for almost 10 years...i've been learning hawaiian too (along with taven)
maestra replied: I speak English (of course) and fluent Spanish. I also know a few words in Italian.
Josie83 replied: Well my parents are both Italian but when we were growing up they refused to speak much Italian to us, they wanted us to grow up with English as a first language . I used to eb grateful for that but now I wish that they had spoken to me in Italian, i think its good to be bilingual. I can understand most Italian and speak a bit but can't really write or read it. My dad now talks to Cassie almost exclusively in Italian so she is hopefully going to be bilingual xx
A&A'smommy replied: OKay well I was born in Germany and I was VERY fluent in the language but after we moved I didn't have anyone to speak that language to so I forgot all of it but then of course I was two lol then when 15 I learned sign language and I was really good at that my friend and I got into a lot of trouble at church LOL
sjerul replied: wow that you all have time to even learn... well ok in school.. but still remmeber the other languages.. parts of it.. pretty cool.. i speak allot of languages partly since we had every single one in school .. ugh.. i speak dutch witch should be my best one but in dutch i suck.. i speak english cause my stepdad is english.. i even think in english most of the time. i also speak german, a little bit of french and taking spanish classes at the moment cause i want to go open a buisness in or spain or mexico .. depending on where my friend wants to go.. then i got an italian uncle but all i know is to say hi and bye in that .. i love speaking different languages....
elvisfan replied: Mostly just English. I can speak some French. I took 5yrs of it and used to be pretty good at it but I haven't practiced in almost 7yrs so I've lost some of it.
favre4fan replied: Sprechen sie deutsch? I lived in Germany for about 6 years and Nolan was born over their. I can hardly remember to speak it now!!
A&A'smommy replied: Where are you from? lol I know that they have to learn almost all languages in Germany, do they do that everywhere? that is REALLY cool!
MomofJandB replied: My DH's cousin and his wife did this for both their kids! She spoke Italian and he spoke English. Both kids, now 8 and 6, know both languages great! I always thought it would confuse them, but it didn't!
As for me, English is it! I did take 3 years of French in High School, but don't think I remember a thing!!!
3_call_me_mama replied: I can fluently speak , english, french, ASL (american sign language) and understand some german (thanks to our exchange student last year) and A lot of spanish thanks to Dora! (what would we do without her?!)
tweety replied: english, some spanish, and very little ASL.
Josie83 replied: Yeah it is quite cool. Cassie doesn't get confused actually, she sometimes says Italian words to me but not very often, and I can understand them anywhere. Its so cute when she says "Ciao mama!" xx
party-of-six replied: in addition to english, I speak toddler.
