How many ounces of milk per day

ediep wrote: Jason used to have 24 ounces of milk, but since trying milk in the cup instead of the bottle he is down to 16 ounces

kit_kats_mom replied: K flat out refuses to drink milk. I had totally given up after trying warm, cold, slushee/frozen, powdered, rice, soy, skim, whole etc. I hadn't even tried to give her milk to drink in weeks. Tonight she had some in a cup with a straw and she didn't throw the cup on the floor or make an ugly face like she usually does....she actually drank some and went back for seconds. She probably had a whole tablespoon of milk! maybe I'll try again tomorrow. rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley has always hated milk. She will only drink about 12 ounces a day ... and she will only drink 2% milk. My Ped said that she should be getting 24 ounces per day. So, I make sure I always give her either cheese or yogurt too. My Ped said that is fine as long as I do give it to her everyday. Also, she told me to put butter (not margarine) in her veggies so that she gets the recommended amount of fat every day since she will only drink 2%. The fat is needed to stimulate brain cells or something like that.

kit_kats_mom replied: Yup, yup, yup. K gets her calcium from pudding, cheese and cream based soups & yogurt.

aspenblue1 replied: Isabella doesn't like milk either. I give her a lot of yogurt and cheese.

jcc64 replied: Yet another in a long list of things Corey doesn't like. Loves cheese though.

MomToMany replied: I put 8-16 oz. because she doesn't drink that much out of her sippy cup. But cheese is a food group to her, and she loves yogurt too, so she gets plenty of calcium. And she's still BFing, too.

Guest_natjasem replied: 0 oz. of milk a day, but we're starting to get 8oz. of Pedisure down her a day, which helps a lot with the calcium!

DansMom replied: Daniel's severely allergic, so he can't have any of that. Luckily, he likes avocados, and olive oil on his veggies. He will have very small amounts of soy milk (a tablespoon) but hates rice milk.

amynicole21 replied: Sophia will sometimes take a swig or two, but most of her milk comes from Mommy smile.gif I give her lots of yogurt, and sometimes she'll eat cheese, too.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Jade drinks over 24 ounces a day. She LOVES her milk. She will drink some water and some juice, but she wants her milk. I'm glad because she's a very picky eater at this moment so It's good that she drinks so much milk.

coasterqueen replied: Kylie is still nursing, but I noticed when I sent bottles of ebm to the sitter she drank more, but now that I send sippys she drinks less. Weird.
