How many times does your baby bump his/her head?

kit_kats_mom wrote: Now that Katherine is pulling up, crawling and cruising with a vengance she bonks her head like 10 times a day or more. DH just asked me how often she does this so I figured I'd check with the other mommies. I suspect she will be doing it more now since she stood on her own today for a few seconds and she took 2 steps yesterday without holding on to anything...I'm currently in denial that she did those things. rolling_smile.gif she is just growing up too fast!

~CrazieMama~ replied: Brianna hits her head all the time. Usually because she gets knocked over from the dog trotting by and hitting her or her cousin pulls her to the ground. Then there are times when she just trips over her own feet. Poor baby.

Mommieto2Girls replied: Maddie never really hits her head. When she stands and she goes to sit she just sits, she has never thrown herself backwards. Sometimes when she tries to stand up under something then she bumps her head but she has never cried from it.
My sisters baby always seems to bump her head though, so maybe it a clutzy thing .I dunno. dunno.gif

Mommieto2Girls replied: Michelle you should have put 20+ . hehehehe j/k

~CrazieMama~ replied: Ok now I know my baby may seem clumsy every now and then, but she is not that clumsy. Maybe 2 - 5 was a wishing on my part. Ok I should put at least 10. My baby will probably grow up to be a gymnast or something...lol You never know!!!

paradisemommy replied: is this per day?? rolling_smile.gif

he loves to pull himself up on something then he'll forget that he doesn't know how to balance and let go with both hands only to realize about 30 seconds later and goes tumbling down..

but he's very quick to recover we can have him laughing within about 10 seconds laugh.gif

Wow! That's GREAT!! Woo Hoo Katherine!! banana.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Aw thanks. wub.gif The little monkey keeps letting go of the furniture and trying to walk, then tumbling down, so her head sure it taking a beating. Not to mention the times she crawls under the coffee table then tries to sit up.

Perhaps she will be clumsy. Like mother like daughter! LOL tongue.gif

jdkjd replied: Damn. I feel like Bailey is behind with no talking yet (besides dadadada and babababa), and crap, her friend Katherine is already walking.

j/k!

Congrats. Man, you are really going to have to watch her, she's going to be going out the door soon. biggrin.gif

She is a challenge for sure. Her favorite game right now is the "I'm gonna get you game". She stands at the end of the couch and peeks around the corner then I say, "Hey Katherine, guess what? I'm gonna get you!" She squeals and runs away (holding onto the couch) then I crawl along and tickle her. I have a really bad case of carpet burn on my knees now. wacko.gif But I keep doing it because when I don't she will take off down the couch and look back with a big grin like "mommy, come and get me!" It's too cute.
She isn't talking yet though either. Just alot of babbles and raspberries with the occasional Uh-Oh thrown in when she is really trying to be cute.

Schnoogly replied: Iain is always banging his head into MY HEAD!! Ouch! He's a head-butter! DH says he's going to break his nose someday! He is always tumbling when he sits too but I usually put some blankets around him so it isn't too hard.

I wouldn't worry... all babies develop at their own rates. But, I read that by the age of 2, they have all caught up with each other. At 4 months, I was worried when all the babies on the PP board were rolling over. Ashley couldn't roll over, but she could sit up by herself for a really long period of time. She didn't roll over until she was 5 months old... and then she rolled over and kept going on over and rolled both ways at the same time. Once she learned how to sit up, she didn't want to have anything to do with laying down...LOL... I guess that is why it took her so long to roll over. My point is...all babies are different, so don't worry!

As for the poll, I put 5-10 times. Ashley will pull herself up, cruise a little, and then let go. Aren't they suppose to be afraid to let go at first??? This girl has no fear of falling! Anyways, she doesn't usually squat when she falls, she just tumbles to the side. We have a bar made out of ceramic tile in our family room and she bumped her head on it once, but now she won't even go back over to that side of the room. I guess it must have hurt.

jdkjd replied:
Sure...

That's how you got that... biggrin.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Well...ummm, ahem...It's my story and I'm sticking to it. rolling_smile.gif

MomofTay&Sam replied: huh.gif Am I in the wrong age group or what? LOL I picked 1-2 and thats rare. Sammy sits up fine and if he is sitting at a place he can hit his head than one of us is behind him or we use the boppy.

MommyToAshley replied: Right after I post this and say that Ashley doesn't knwo how to get back down from standing up, I turn around and she is standing up... she sticks her little butt out and slowly squats until she reaches the ground. hehehe. I guess she has learned how to get back down... it was sooo cute.
