How much do you pay for preschool - Another question
moped wrote: I am full of questions today........if you don't mind me asking what does everyone pay for preschool? What is the going rate?
Yesterday when i was calling it was ranging from about $130 - $200.month. There was one school that was a whopping $350/month and that was only 5.5 hours per week.
The Montessori school I want is $130/month I think.
Boo&BugsMom replied: $130 for a Montessori program is VERY reasonable, IMO. Around here it's anywhere from $100/mo to $250/mo depending on where and how many days per week. Usually the higher end is 3 days a week from 9-12 and the lower end is 2 days a week, same time 9-12.
lisar replied: Lexi went from 8am till noon Monday thru Friday and it cost me $320.00 a month. There were alot cheaper ones out there but that is one of the best schools in Jax so I paid it and it was well worth it.
stella6979 replied: Wow! $130.00/month for the Montessori School? My friend pays $600.00/month.
lesliesmom replied: My son will be in a Lutheran preschool program. We will be paying $70/month for a 3 day program that runs from 9 to 11:15.
A&A'smommy replied: wee school here is like 125 a month I think and then the PUBLIC pre-school is 250 bucks a month.. its CRAZY!!!
lovemy2 replied: Likewise - here in NY, I think for three days like 3 hours a day it was like $500/mo for Montessori....
I am not sure we pay $320/mo but that is for 2 days a week FULL days - its a preschool/daycare combined - preschool in the am with a wraparound for the afternoon....
luvmykids replied: The twins go to a private church based preschool for 10.5 hours per week and it's $190 each child. There are some that are less, some more. The thing that sold me on theirs was the class sizes, max 10 kids per class even though there were less expensive ones.
The after care rates are pretty good, $4/hr per kid.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin goes to a private pre K, its the best around she learns tons of differnt things, class sizes are small, she goes 5 days a week class is from 9a-1p can drop off as early as 7a. Its more expensive than others but soooo worth it IMO.
Mom2Boyz replied: The preschool that Conner will be going to is free It is through the public school system, and is M-F 7:30-11:00.
DansMom replied: Daniel's coop preschool is about $90 a month for 3 mornings a week. However, you do work twice a month at school in addition to having a job connected to running the school and fundraising, so there is a tradeoff.
boyohboyohboy replied: Our preschool is $140 a month for 3 days a week, only three hour days....but its been worth it.I just love it there. we pulled him out for the summer though, to enjoy the time we have left before he actually starts school.
MommyToAshley replied: Our preschool is similar, but I love being involved in the preschool and knowing what is going on, knowing the teachers and the kids that Ashley talks about, etc. Snacks and supplies are also supplied by the parents... we get a list each month. It's divided up so it's not much. For example, this month I have to bring in one gallon of apple juice. We also do two major fundraisers a year.
Our tuition would be $105/month for M-W-F, 9:30-12:00, but I did a barter last year where I developed the preschool's website and update it monthly in exchange for the two years of tuition.
skinkybaby replied: Grace's is $130 a month for 2 days a week from 9-2.
holley79 replied: We we aren't in preschool yet. I hope the prices are like that. I am paying 115/ week right now for her dayhome.
DillsMommy replied: We pay $175 a month for 9 hours a week. He goes mon, wed and fri 9-12. It's also a private church based preschool.
Brias3 replied: Mason will attend a 3-year old preschool program in fall. The school my older two attend just recently announced plans to open the 3-year old program for the first time next year, so we're sending him for 1) convenience sake and 2) he'll be attending K-8 there, even though its alot pricier than what we've looked into.
He'll be attending three days a week, morning session (8a-12p). Tuition is $4510 for the year, so just around $500/month The other school we were strongly considering was $345/month but DH was insistent upon Ryan and Aliyah's school, since we're so happy with the staff, curriculum and environment there.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Wow! Getting a Montessori school for that rate is excellent!
Christian goes to a private school that has elem, junior and senior high within the same walls, but she is technically in preschool with her grade level. We pay $175/mo basic. It is 5hrs/day at that rate. There are extra costs if snacks, bus transportation, and extended days are needed. If she were to go to a preschool/daycare it would be about $90/wk or $360/mo.
There are other private schools that run the cost of a car payment- in the $300-$400 range here too though.
hawkshoe replied: I pay $20 per year. I have my son enrolled in a program through the local high school. He goes 2 days a week for 2 hours a day. They go from Oct through Dec. then March through May.
sunrosejenn replied: $65 a month (24 hours a month) - August through May I believe
3 year olds Mon & Wed 8am-11am
4 year olds Tue & Thurs 12pm-3pm
CantWait replied: Well the preschool here is $140 a month. I've heard mixed reviews about it. I haven't checked anything out in Fredericton yet, but so far it's very limited. The $140 also covers half a day 5 days a week. There are other programs also, like 2 and 3 days for cheaper at the same school.
Cece00 replied: Honestly I dont know how much preschool is around here.
My oldest currently goes to a PreK school here that is free (its public). PreK is a little higher lvl than preschool, but its not quite 'real school', its to prepare them for school.
Its a Montessori program as well.
Boys r us replied: OMG! It sounds like I need to move! Preschool around here is crazy!
Braedon's preschool is 8:30 - 2pm and is $4300/yr and that does not include any holidays or summer! It follows the regular school year and goes for 9 months.
Brias3 replied: I agree with you totally. I said the same thing after reading this post! I literally had to write the security deposit check for Mason's preschool yesterday and it pained me to look at the four-digit yearly price
