I Didn't get the Apartment....Discrimination!

Although, you may not want to live there with that landlord afterwards, depends on if his nose gets all out of joint.

Why/how did he know about your medical issues????

I did erase the message, I wasn't thinking lastnight I was just really upset. He found out about my disability because he asked if I was working and when I told him it was part time he wanted to know how I would be able to afford that apartment. I explained to him that I was on the Ontario Disability Support Program and then he asked what my disability was, since I was able to work. I figured why lie, it's not going to get me anywhere. So I told him I had a mental illness. Then he was concerned that if I lost my job and was just relying on ODSP, how would I be able to afford it. I guess without the message there really isn't anything I can do.

I still dont understand why your leaving where your at now bc around these parts once your in a place your in unless you break the rules of the program (which is very hard).

luvmykids replied: In re-reading this: it sounds like maybe he was just concerned that you might not be able to afford it if something happened, not that it was because of your disability I'm sorry it didn't work out though

Right now I'm not in subsidized housing and I have not signed a lease. I'm moving because of problems with the neighbours and landlord and I would like a bigger apartment so that the kids don't feel so cramped. It's a very small apartment.
