I am home today...

booey2 wrote: bawling.gif with a sprained ankle and will be going to the doctors later today. Eileen my neighbour will be taking me this afternoon to get it checked out. It is a really stupid way to do it, some one smash.gif left a door stop in the middle of the hallway and I was going to open and unlock a door, didn't see it and stepped on it turning my ankle over almost all the way under. So much pain I was feeling sick so I took a cab home. My supervisor suggested I get a cab home and they paid for it, as I drive a stick shift and my left foot is the one I twisted and can't use the clutch. So here I sit, bored out of my mind already, I may go down stairs and do some scanning of my older pictures, well maybe not today, I think I will be home for a couple of days. Got my foot elevated right now and my toes are really cold, gonna go get a blanket soon.

So I get to play around here more then usuall, thank goodness for my laptop and wireless internet. LOL rolling_smile.gif

sparkys2boys replied: Aww I am sorry that you hurt your ankle..get some rest and hopefuult it will fell better soon. YOu dont think it is broken do u?

MommyToAshley replied: OUCH. Sounds painful.

Take it easy, and get better soon! hug.gif hug.gif

booey2 replied:
Thanks, I don't think it is broken, I was able to walk on it, I know that it could still have broke something in there. I used to do this a lot when I was a kid and played volleyball and basketball. But I have to get it checked out for work incase I need more time off then just today.

booey2 replied:
Thanks Dee Dee, as long as I keep it elevated it doesn't hurt so much but as soon as I have to get up and walk on it, wowzers. I just pray it is not broken or I will have to drive DH's car as it is an automatic, yuck. I prefer standards.

sparkys2boys replied:
Yea, I would for sure get it looked at. Stay off it as much as possible until you do hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: hug.gif YOUCH!!...Hope you feel better soon. I have the same problem with my ankle...any kind of uneven foundation will make it roll really easily.

luvmykids replied: OUCH! I'm glad you're going to the dr, I hope it feels better soon! hug.gif

msoulz replied: Ouch - I sure hope it's just a little sprain and you feel better soon!! hug.gif

Calimama replied: I hope it's just a minor sprain and you aren't in too much pain. hug.gif hug.gif

CantWait replied: Awww that sucks Terri. Hope it's not that bad and heals quickly.

coasterqueen replied: Oh no Terri! ohmy.gif I hope it heals quickly. That stinks. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

BTW, my DD told me the computer was blinking yesterday (a while after apparently it was happy.gif ) and she tried to respond, but couldn't figure it out. She was playing on Webkinz at the time apparently. Sorry I missed you. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Yikes I'm sorry!!! I hope you don't get too bored today!! hug.gif hug.gif

booey2 replied:
Thank you everyone, it doesn't hurt so much now. I have been off of it for about 5 hours now, it only hurts when I get up to, say go to the bathroom and have to walk on it. I am laying on our new chocolate brown sectional, that just got delivered on Saturday, bored out of my mind.

Karen, I wondered if you just got busy. Funny how the little ones will try and help, next time I will send some funny winks and she will get a laugh.

Only a little under an hour before I head off to the doctors office, I didn't wan to go to the ER because I new I would be spending a long time waiting for them to just say it was sprained. I know the doctor will look at it, send me for an x-ray and then tell me it is just sprained.

Will update after I get home.

Thanks again,

mom21kid2dogs replied: So BTDT, Terri! hug.gif It'a always a good idea to get them checked out. I've cracked mine a couple times and thought they were just sprains, ripped ligaments, etc.

Don't feel bad about the method of spraining it. I once ripped the heck out of mine when I tripped on the side elevation of a handicap accessible curb. I'm a lover of irony, but even thaty one was too much for me!! rolling_smile.gif

booey2 replied: Thanks again everyone. Just got back from the docs and x-ray, he said it is a really severe sprain and to take it easy, elevate, ice and wrap it as tight as I can stand with a tenor bandage. Either the nurse will call if it is not broken or he will call and go from there. At this point I would prefer a break because they don't hurt as much as this does. He did say I could take extra strength tylenol for the pain. So here I sit bored and hoping the kids behave when they get home and let me rest. My boss said not to hurry back, stay home, and get better. Can't really do that at work as I have to walk around some for my job and really can't elevate my leg properly at the office.

So I will be around here for a couple more days.

coasterqueen replied: Well terri, I'm not going to say boo hoo to having you on the board more. tongue.gif I hope your ankle gets feeling better real soon, though. hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

The boys have to behave or fend for themselves, mom isn't supposed to be putting weight on that leg wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif This is the one time you actually get to listen to the doctor, right? tongue.gif

booey2 replied: Thanks Karen, blush.gif yup if I don't listen I will do way more harm to it and really can't with all we have going on. I guess I will have to haul out my weights and stretchie bands to get my activity in. I had just started working out again, someone doesn't want me to get fit. rolleyes.gif

I'm glad it's not broken. I really hope the pain eases up soon. hug.gif hug.gif

katiesmom2002 replied: Hope you get to feeling better soon.

redchief replied: Terri, I hope you're back on your feet, sans limp, very soon. Sorry you've had such a rotten day.
