I am losing my job... - but it's not all bad
My3LilMonkeys wrote: I work in the payroll dept. for a fairly large company - I've worked here for 6 years. The main office is in a completely different state than the payroll/HR office (due to a merger of different companies and some realignments). Well, it was announced today that they decided it would be in the company's best financial interests to close our office.
At first I was seriously freaking out - how in the world am I going to find another job when I'm pregnant? But it seems that everything will work out OK. I will be the last one to leave and will be working to May 30th. Then my severance and unused vacation time will pay out and really, I'll be paid like normal until about Sept., so I won't need to find another job until after the baby is born. But I absolutely love my job and my coworkers so I'm still heartbroken about it all.
mckayleesmom replied: sorry sweetie.....Hope you find something you love just as much.
lovemy2 replied: That does stink but it will be kinda nice to be able to be home at the end of your pregnancy with the girls and until after the baby is born
luvmykids replied: I'm sorry, at least it will work out ok financially but I know it sucks to have to job hunt and all that junk
TrulyBlessed replied: ((((Big Hugs))))) I went through this last January when I lost my job after 3 years. It is an emotional rollercoaster, that's for sure. I don't know how we have made it though, our expenses alone we are short $125.00 but by the grace of God he has brought us through and I am still out of work. It's been a blessing though, I have been home with my 2 girls for the last year, I'm pregnant with our 3rd child and I am attending college. I'm praying God will continue to see us through so I can stay home with the baby for awhile. When I look back we should have lost our house and our vehicles, but we've made it and I'm learning (for me) I just need to trust in God. I'm here to talk if you need someone to listen.
jacobsmama replied: I'm sorry to hear this because now days it is very hard to find a good job, let alone one you like! I am glad though it is gonna work out financially.
It will be difficult to say goodbye when you are so use to it..but It will all work out. hang in there.
redchief replied: I'm sorry you're losing your job. I'm glad you're looking forward, though, instead of wallowing.
