I am so p'd off Right Now

My2Beauties wrote: OMG my stupid company I sware I hate it here, I am so ready to go somewhere else!

Our open enrollment for our benefits is from May 18-June something or other and they have completely changed our plans. They took away our PPO's and replaced them with HDHP plans which are high deductible plans. Basically you have to meet this ungodly deductible, family coverage you usually have to meet between 2k-6k depending on which plan you choose before they pay any of your health care costs mad.gif Because I work for the stupid insurance company we can't do anything about it. The insurance they offer other companies is so much better than what they offer their own employees. We have a tier drug plan for our prescriptions that only pays an allowance towards certain drugs, it already sucks as it is and next plan year it will be worse. A tube of Ellidil cream for Hanna (for her mild eczema that she gets once in a blue moon) was $94 with my insurance plan sad.gif mad.gif $94 freaking dollars! The girl on the phone in the pharmacy area was like well it's better than the $200 that the craem costs, I said it's better if I ring your smart little neck... mad.gif Sorry but this company makes me so mad! It is the biggest piece of bureaucratic garbage ever, the managers here have no clue what they are doing, they stand over you like hawks, and this place is so unorganized! I hate it here! I am sorry guys you're seeing an ugly side of me but I have to vent. To think that I am going to have to come out of my pocket pver 2,000 dollars before they pay for anything as well as pay my bi-weekly premiums from my paycheck just completely p's me off! Then get this, if you cover your spouse next year they are going to charge you an extra $10 per pay period for covering him/her if they have insurance available through their employer, whether or not it's beneficial for him to have his/her insurance through his work! We'll be married by then so I was going to cover Brian, right now he doesn't have insurance because it would cost him almost $80 a week just to cover himself and these buttholes want to charge me $10 extra per pay period because I want to cover him! The nerve of them mad.gif banghead.gif banghead.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm sorry to hear that
That ticks me off also
We have good insurance thank God for that

They screw you to pay a lower price and actually its just a matter of ex amount of small dollars a person if they keep it the way it was. Go figure.
So your family suffers at their expense

Kaitlin'smom replied: health insurance is a mystry to me it sems like we pay more every year in premiums and get less and less coverage mad.gif

so vent away

ediep replied: mad.gif mad.gif I'd be so angry too! That is unfair!!! So sorry you have to deal with that!!

Boys r us replied: I'm sorry that you have to deal with that!!! That sucks big time girl! Start looking for somewhere new!

jcc64 replied: You're singing my song, Lea Ann! I find it infuriating in this "land of plenty" that only the wealthy can afford to get sick.
But then again, most people must be ok with it because Bush is back in office. (sorry, couldn't help myself!)

mom21kid2dogs replied: It amazes me that "the powers that be" don't see this as a problem. Apparently, the President & Congress have darn good insurance and assumes everyone else does too! Wake up, buddies~insurance is no longer affordable to the middle class, this is not just a problem for retired folk and the poor!! wacko.gif When I quit work, I learned just how valuable good insurance is because I lost it. Olivia & I purchase a seperate policy through our life insurer. It's $600 per quarter and just got raised to a 5K deductible. It has no prescription drug plan, so all that's out of pocket. Needless to say, I don't go to the Dr. unless I'm dying~literally~can't afford it. Thank God we are both healthy. I no longer take my cholestrol meds because they are over $150 a month. It was not an issue when I worked! I doubt if it's any consolation to you, but most employers in our area instituted most of those same policies about 5 years ago. It is pretty hard to take, but better than the alternative of self insurance!!

Did you know the leading cause of bankrupcy in 2004 was due to people filing because they or a family member suffered a catastophic illness and it wiped them out? How sad is that? Socialized medicine doesn't seem so bad to me now, even with all it's pitfalls! soapbox.gif soapbox.gif

I just loved that Glaxco commercial a year or so ago that proclaimed "Today's medicine financing tomorrow"s cures" . It made me want to throw a shoe at the TV!! cool.gif

My2Beauties replied:
laugh.gif Thanks for putting a smile on my face Jeanne! Bush is too busy funding the war then worrying about health insurance..geez what are we thinking to even complain about our little problems.... rolleyes.gif NOT....this whole country's healthcare policies are becoming a huge problem and tha bunghole has no clue whatsoever! sad.gif

My2Beauties replied:
ITA with you, as an example the woman whose house we're thinking about buying...the whole entire reason she has to sell her home is because she had to file bankruptcy on her home and her business because she got breast cancer! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif SAD SAD SAD world we're living in today!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yikes.... I'm glad I don't live in the states.... no offense!!!!

My insurance here - I pay about 11$ every 2 weeks direct off my pay, and the whole family is covered. I have to pay a 60$ deductible, IF I submit a claim.... and that's only once a year, not every time....

Unless it is elective surgery - then we have to pay.

Good luck.... really!

mckayleesmom replied: Im glad I don't pay for my insurance...all we pay is a 3.00 copay for perscriptions for me and the rugrats and dh's perscriptions are no charge.

DVFlyer replied: Ughhhh. Sounds like a lousy plan. sad.gif

5littleladies replied: I'm sorry-that really sucks! Our insurance used to be really good and in the past few years has dropped to mediocre. However I do not blame the leaders of our country for this. wink.gif There are many things that have contributed to this problem and I don't think it's fair to blame one person. 2cents.gif
