I am such a kid - this is almost too embarassing to admit
coasterqueen wrote: This is really embarassing, but hey I'll admit it anyways. Maybe someone is as nutty as me.
Kylie got some Webkinz for Christmas. I had no clue what they were before that. I had just ignored them when I heard about them. Well, I must admit I'm addicted to them more than Kylie is. I told DH I want one of my own to play with.
I'm strange, right? You can admit it.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I don't know what they are either. But I play with the kids' toys more than they do sometimes too.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Kaitlin got one from Ashley we have payed with it abit, she gets it more then I do
lesliesmom replied: I think the toys themselves are cute but, I will admit, I do spend everyday online playing in Webkinz world. More because we don't have internet at home so I "check" on both of my kids webkinz and have to give them an update. I also play the games to earn them WebkinzCash and build their rooms for them... what can I say. It's cute and a great way to make it through my day at work when there is nothing else to do.
coasterqueen replied: Yes! I'm not alone. I play the games during the day when I can to earn Kylie cash. I also decorate her rooms a bit, but she gets upset if I do that. See, that's why I need my own.
PrairieMom replied: No. I acutally just got done with my job for the morning. I have vented on here about webkinz before. Poor Ben can't really play the games yet, but he LOVES to spend the $, leaving ME to go in and do all the "work" to get the $ for him to spend. I spend way more time on webkinz than he does.
Anyone know how to make "friends" on there? It would be fun to send each others kids gifts.
CantWait replied: Sounds like a good stress reliever and great get away from being mom. LOL
amynicole21 replied: We have several of those things too... pretty fun
lisar replied: No your not strange. I play with Lexi's toys. The barbie cash register is really cool. And the Bratz laptop is also really fun to play with.
momofone replied: there is a little phone next to the mail box press power then add type user name. then they have to be in the same "zone" color phone and on at the same time. HTH
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I do have my own. It's a raccoon named Socks. My kids think I'm crazy. I think it's FUN!!!
luvmykids replied: Thats a big reason my kids don't have them yet....I know too many parents who are addicted and I know I would be too
PrairieMom replied: so, to be able to send gifts and notes we have to be in the same "zone" like my kid can't be friends with someone in say europe somewhere? or is that just to play games together? I am confused.
Anyway, our user name is Lycos, if someone wants to add us.
sparkys2boys replied: My boys both have them but I dont help me or should I say am not allowed to..lol!
momofone replied: to send gifts go into Things to do then Kinz post you can do this after you add a friend. you don't have to be in the same zone for gifts and notes. thats only for playing in each others rooms.
PrairieMom replied: you can play in each others rooms? huh. Thats news to me!
momofone replied: yep - If your in your room and click on the phone go into invite but the user has to be online and the same color phone. My DD is usually on the phone talking to her friend while doing it so they can communicate.
TheOaf66 replied: don't feel bad Karen, Tanner just got one on Sunday and last night Jennie was playing with it AT WORK!!!!
holley79 replied: I think they are neat also. I told Shawn I wanted them for my birthday.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Yep. Probably will tonight again too.
coasterqueen replied: I play with Kylie's 3 pets every day. I so hope I get one for Valentine's Day. I've hinted to Dh AND to Kylie.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: I was at the post office last week and the sales clerk was stocking a bunch of them. I asked her "don't you get online with them or something?" and she said yes. And she said SHE had one, but it "retired"...is that possible? Anyhow, my point is, she was a grown woman and I guess she plays with them too, so you are not alone!
PrairieMom replied: they retire like beanie babies. I think.
amynicole21 replied: Rae, I think the account only lasts one year... not sure about that though.
Anthony275 replied: i have two now and i still dont know what to do
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yeah, they expire in a year.
Brias3 replied: Oh, you are SO NOT strange. My kids recently got into the Webkinz too and I swear, I'm on that website more than they are. They are positively addicting!!!!
msoulz replied: LOL, I play with Erin more than Jake does - he started a garden and was neglecting it so Erin and I get on every day and do the gardening. Then Jake wanted to start a new account, so he did, and I send him fresh fruits and veggies to feed his new pets!
I have my 2 year old as an excuse. It is such an adorable site though, and I can even understand the games!!
MoonMama replied: Nana brought Braedin one back from Vegas a while back, but other then that I haven't paid much attention to them.
coasterqueen replied: Wait, you are gardening? How do you do that? Kylie has a garden, but I didn't know it needed to be tended to. Help!
PrairieMom replied: there is a icon in the upper left where the move and edit icons are that says garden . you click on that, and mouse over your garden and it will tell you what needs to be done.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I love some of those games! I am a pro at the 3 of a kind game Taylor loves it when she gets online and she has cool new stuff(because I went shopping with my money )! She says Moooooom did you play WebKinz again?
Boo&BugsMom replied: Can't you reactivate them though after the year is up? I thought I read something like that. ??? I don't know how that works.
Teesa®© replied: We just bought both our children one and I'm more addicted to it than they are
I play as much as I can to win them big KinzCash and buy the things that they "need", like tubs and fridges, lol.
I don't think the colour zones change from geographical area to geographical area, I *think* it's more what level they're at. If you have the charms, you're at a different level. Not quite sure yet on that tho, don't have any charms.
Huuby and I were laughing today saying we need some sort of therapy... we're both addicted to Pogo, and now Webkinz!
The only issue I've had so far was with the durned fence! I bought the privacy one for $195, but couldn't get the dmmed thing to go around DD's yard. FINALLY figured out that it goes around the OUTSIDE of the yard, not ON the yard... and I only got ONE PIECE!! Since it's a 10x10 yard, it's gonna cost a total of $7 605 to do the whole yard!! ... well, $7 020, I have 3 pieces now
Needless to say, DS is only getting a white picket fence... IF he gets one at all!! lol
Did you know you can sell your stuff if you don't want it anymore? Except the rooms, they're there for good.
I've learned tons of stuff in there since DD got her first WebKinz 2 days ago. Maybe I can answer questions if anyone's stuck.
ETA: concerning the memberships... yes, they're active for one year, BUT if you buy another pet to 'adopt', on the last day of your membership, your account is extended for another year.
Boo&BugsMom replied: Ok, I just learned that the account will stay available for reactivitation for either 45 or 30 days after the expiration date. That's comforting.
I am busy trying to find a charm for Tanner so he can get into the Magical Charm Forest, but everywhere I look or call they are gone, gone, gone. I guess they are super popular. I wanted to put one in his Easter basket so he could get into the forest, but the ones online are like $25 or more....um.....don't think so, I am not paying that much for some stupid charm. I'll get him a couple packets of cards though. I guess some have codes on them that allow you to access more games...woo hoo!
Tanner also saved him money and got another Webkinz, so he now has 4...a tree frog, lion, bassett hound, and a chihuahua.
PrairieMom replied: For those of you that have more than one webkinz, do you get to do one job per pet every 8 hours? or just one job period? and then you are doing the academy stuff, do you get 3 classes per pet? or just 3 classes period per day?
Boo&BugsMom replied: I think it's every 8 minutes, not 8 hours. Maybe I'm wrong? The jobs are under one account, not by pet. The classes you can take 3 per pet each day and each pet gets their own report card.
Wow, it's sad I know all that...
PrairieMom replied: no, its every 8 hours. It sucks trying to make $ that way. to bad it isn't one job per pet. Are there any benefits to having more than one pet?
Boo&BugsMom replied: Just more rooms to decorate! And all the rooms are joined together so they can all "play" in one room. Right now I have all 4 of Tanner's sitting outside around a table hanging out.
In case anyone would like to be Tanner's "friend", his name is beastboy66. Let me know if you send him a request so I make sure he approves it.
Teesa®© replied: Then I'm sad, too, because I knew that as well! lol
I wish you could move your rooms, though. I goofed up and stuck the kitchen on the other side of the yard Had to bust my butt to make more money to buy another room. Good news though, my son now has a shed to store his stuff!! But the bad news is it's a rather expensive "toybox"!!
kimberley replied: omg y'all are hilarious! i haven't ventured into the world of webkins yet.. have 3 codes but haven't gone to the site... but i was addicted to my boys' tamagotchis.
