I am worried - MB's Cardiologist appt

amymom wrote: Tomorrow is Mary Beth's appt with the cardiologist. I really feel it is just over checking on the peds part, but it is worrisome to feel we are seeing another specialist anyway. I just want to vent. If my DH knows I am this worried he will be a basketcase.

In case you don't remember, her ped heard a murmer for the first time this year. (Billy has one that is heard sometimes and has been there since he was two weeks old,) We are hoping hers is similar ~~~ no big deal, just a functional murmer but who knows.

Well, I will update tomorrow night, just wanted to vent about this. She also needs some blood work done, I haven't told her, but will do that after we see the cardiologist. She is having an ECG at noon tomorrow and then seeing the top pediatric heart specialist from Syracuse, NY. So hopefully it will be painless and worry free.

Wish me luck. Thanks in advance!!!

Calimama replied: Good luck! I'll be hoping for the best for you. hug.gif hug.gif

CantWait replied: Try not to worry. I'm sure it's nothing. hug.gif hug.gif

Update us when you can.

redchief replied: Please try not to worry. I know many, many people with murmur that, other than they've been told they have it, have no other symptoms or problems. Lisa is one of them. Do keep us posted on the results of the visit, please?

C&K*s Mommie replied: Yes, please keep us posted. hug.gif We were practicing with ECG's tonight on each other, and our instructor noticed a slight dysrythmia in one of the students. Nothing to be concerned over, but it was interesting nonetheless. Even looking at example ECG's that were obviously out of whack-- it was simply amazing that someone could still be okay with abnormalities such as those.

Our bodies as well as hearts are fascinating, to go through so much and still keep us going.

Wishing you peace for tomorrow and keep us posted.

lisar replied: I hope everything comes out okay for yall.

gr33n3y3z replied: I will be thinking of MB hug.gif for her and a prayer
Please keep us posted

redplaydoh replied: I have a murmer that can sometimes be heard and many times cannot. I'm sure they'll say she's just fine. Please keep us posted and it's ok to worry, that is a parent's job. hug.gif

amymom replied: Thanks everyone for the reassurrance. I am sure it is nothing. The peds concern was that it was never heard for her entire 9 years. But I am CERTAIN that the cardiologist will say no big deal. (~~~fingers crossed~~~)

I will update tonight. Thanks.

luvmykids replied: Colt has one that only shows up when he's sick, they've sent him to a specialist three times. I think your ped just wants to know more about it in order to be safe. Hope all goes well and that it's nothing to worry about hug.gif hug.gif

lesliesmom replied: Chris (3) was diagnosed with one earlier this year... Like Colt, only really shows up when he's sick. I was in my 20s when they diagnosed one on me. No other doctor noticed it, heard it or mentioned it... Went through the EKGs and sonograms and really have not problems from it, other than its there.

Good luck and keep us posted.

3xsthefun replied: Good luck! I hope that everything is ok. hug.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: they seems to be more and more commen and sould liek the ped just wants to make sure everything is fine. I am sure it is and woudl rather have it checked and find its no big deal than have a doc who did not care. GL and update when you can. hug.gif

sparkys2boys replied: Good luck I hope it goes well for you!

boyohboyohboy replied: anne marie, i hope that mb gets her appt and has good news. I have had a heart murmur my entire life, with no ill effects. I hope she has a good lab tech that takes her blood with no pain..

mom21kid2dogs replied: ~~~Good Result Vibes~~~~ coming her way! hug.gif
