I did something interesting this weekend

There was a big bru-ha-ha about the exhibit because the bodies were actually john & jane doe's from China and the anitomical board wasn't happy about bodies that had not consented to be on display being on display. It's been the largest exibition in the museums history and over a million people have gone already.
Basically, these scientists in China took these human bodies and inected them with a silacone polymer and so the entire body was preserved. It was cool to be able to see how your nerves came out of the spinal column and stuff but the cancers and other diseased parts, I could have done without. I'm glad I went but it was disturbing too. I think that if they'd not left the eyeballs in the bodies, it would have been easier on me.

ammommy replied: I see what you mean about interesting, but disturbing. Did it have to run so close to Halloween
coasterqueen replied: Hmm, very freaky but I bet I would have found it interesting as well. Cool.
Boys r us replied: That's a bit freaky!! But It definitely would have been interesting!
My2Beauties replied: Definitely interesting, don' tknow how much I could stomach but definitely interesting!
jcc64 replied: What kind of museum was it? I'll admit, the freak in me is very curious about what cancer actually looks like. I guess I like to "know the enemy."
kit_kats_mom replied: Jeanne, you totally slay me. You remind me of the George Castanza caracter. "See this white spot? It's cancer I tell you!"
It was at the Museum of Science and Industry. They have a childrens museum with lots of hands on science stuff so we are members and we go about once a month for air conditioned play.
It was very very cool. The most amazing part IMO was where they injected the circulitory system with a red polymer and then stipped away the rest of the bones and everything. They seriously had an entire body of nothing but veins, arteries and cappilaries standing in a glass box. It was facinating.
They also had lungs of smokers and non smokers and stuff.
Oh, and they had one body that was sectioned up into about a hundred slices. That was pretty wierd to be able to see your inner workings like that.

coasterqueen replied: same with me too.

ions_momma replied: That would be kinda freaky, but interesting as well
amynicole21 replied: Oooh, I heard about that. I wonder if it's coming here? Of course, they would most likely be run out of town in conservative Orlando
