I feel so helpless...

huggybugboy wrote: I just dont know what to do. I've gotten 8 hours of sleep maybe in the last two days, so I'm sure that doesnt help. Miles was so sick last night. But then his last vomiting was at 6:40 this morning. He had no diarreah at all today, until about 30 minutes ago and he's had it twice, and so bad I had to change his clothes. Why is he only getting sick at night??? I had my mom call the doc. They told her that its a flu bug going around and it lasts about three days. But I just don't get why he's only having problems at night?? I feel so bad for his little body. He's so small anyway and I worry that he's not getting what he needs. I want to give him milk but everyone tells me no. He won't eat a thing but he chugged his milk last night. (Of course then he was up all morning throwing up.) I'm sorry, I just have to vent. bawling.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Poor little guy. Maybe he is sicker at night because he is laying down flat and everything settles in his little tummy. Is he congested? I know sometimes when they sleep when they are congested, it can cause an upset tummy as well. Also, fevers tend to spike more at night as well.. not sure why? Maybe one of our medical professionals here can answer that one?

Also, it could be the milk. I would hold off on the milk if he is sick. That would definitely cause the vomiting... that could answer why he is sick at night if he is drinking milk before he goes to bed.

I sure hope that he feels better soon and you all get some rest. hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: Take it all in stride, he will be much better soon, and with your love and attention it may be sooner than you think. hug.gif Best wishes for his comfort, and rest and rest and comfort for you. hug.gif We are here anytime you need to vent. grouphug.gif

Our Lil' Family replied: I'm so sorry your little man is still sick. I know the only thing that gets me through those sick days is just letting everything else go and just taking care of him. I hope you are able to do that.

Ashlynn's Mommy replied: Hi there. I'm so sorry your little boy is under the weather. Did you try pedialite?

huggybugboy replied: Thanks everyone. I feel much better this morning. Miles didn't wake up at all last night after that final bout. and NO throwing up so thats great smile.gif I just hope its all over and he starts feeling better and eating. I get so worried about him since the doctors are always saying he's too thin. Thanks again. wink.gif

holley79 replied: hug.gif I just saw this. I hope Miles is better. At least he finally slept through the night and so far so good. I hope it has passed.

kit_kats_mom replied:
I know that fear all too well. When K was 12 months old, she caught the rotavirus and was barfing and poopy for 10 full days. It was awful and so scarey since she wasn't even 17 lbs.

Glad he's feeling better. hug.gif

MomtoPate replied: I am just now seeing this, but sorry to hear that he was so sick and there is not much worse than being sleep deprived. I am glad to hear that he slept all last night and that you were all able to get some much needed rest. I hope that he continues to do so well and gets back to his normal self very soon!

huggybugboy replied: Well I took Miles to the doctor this afternoon because the diarreah started up again as soon as I came to pick him up from my moms. I swear, he must be allergic to me or something, because it only happens when he's with me, even though he is with my mom for 7 hours a day. rolleyes.gif Anyway, the doc said its the flu (duh) and it just has to run its course. He's too young to be able to handle anything to stop or slow down the diarreah. I feel awful about it. I keep expecting to change the next diaper and his intestines will be in it. Thats how bad it is. sleep.gif And whats really hard is putting him to bed. He wants his milk, I know he wants his milk, but the doctor said he cant have it for a while. So he hasnt had milk in 2 days and he wants it so bad! poor thing. Oh well, at least he isnt throwing up.

Now if dh will just get over it quickly...

And pray that I dont come down with it!

MomtoPate replied: Oh gosh, the flu is horrible. Will he take Pedialyte (sp) ? I just hate that the little man is so sick....

I really hope that they both get over it soon....and hopefully YOU will NOT be next! Here's hoping that your family all get a good nights rest tonight!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh I feel for you all! We went through the bug a couple months ago, both DH and Wil, and it was awful. Most of Wil's vomitting was at night too. Like Dee Dee said, it's probably because it's all just sitting in there little tummies for a long period of time. I know it's hard, but yes, try and stay from dairy. Makes it worse. DH made the mistake of giving Wil a yogurt one morning and he was so sick that day. The cramping was awful!

It should pass soon. Once Miles is better, I'm sure his appetite will increase and he will be back to his old self in no time! Hang in there... hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: yeah its rough just give him dry toast if he is hungry (or crackers) until he can hold other things down!! hug.gif hug.gif I hope he is feeling better today!!
