I got BFding kudos last night
kit_kats_mom wrote: I had to take K to see a different ped last night because the sitter said she was irritable and had been tugging her right ear all day. I just wanted to rule out an ear infection even though I was pretty sure it was allergies and teething that were bothering her. We popped in to the clinic but our regular ped wasn't available. The substitute ped said that her ears look fine and I gave K a high five and said "woo hoo! 18 mos and still no ear infections yet!" The ped looked at me with a big smile, and said "way to go that's great, was she breastfed?". I replied, "still is" and the ped said "great job mom! That's probably a big reason why you've not had any ear problems. Impressive!"
I love that ped. She made me feel all warm and fuzzy
kimberley replied: awww that's such a nice thing to hear! and he is right! you are doing a great job for K!
booey2 replied: That is great to hear especially in our society today when many expect you to stop once they are about year old or around there. Kudos to you too.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Great Job mom!
A&A'smommy replied: Awww that is great!
Schnoogly replied: Cool! You don't see that very often.
jdkjd replied: I'm so glad you got such a rave. Especially after some of the doctors that you have had to deal with...
coasterqueen replied: YAY! I love peds like that!
That's great she's not had one yet. Kylie has only had one, knock on wood. AND I was just thinking this morning about how she hasn't had the flu either. KNOCKING ON WOOD VERY HARD. Hopefully that won't jinx me
CantWait replied: WTG!!!! What a great Ped, and of course GREAT MOM
paradisemommy replied: woo hoo..i love getting praise like that especially when it doesn't come very often! what a great ped!
amynicole21 replied: Hey, what a great doc!! I'm impressed that K hasn't had any ear infections, too! Wish bfeeding had kept Sophia clear of them Sadly, I am sure that daycare is the cause of them. I wonder how many more she would have gotten if I wasn't still bfeeding?
KatieLeigh79 replied: Congrats - mine still refuses a bottle or a sippy cup to, and is 10 months - though he has had 5 ear infections already but I think its because I have them all the time to and am wondering if maybe its just a genetic thing that has been passed down
jen replied: That is great CARY!!! WTG!!!! And I am glad K is ok!!!
MommyToAshley replied: How did I miss this post? WTG -- and you do deserve the BF kudos!
It's funny, the other day my MIL made a comment about Ashley eating so well. She said something about, "I wonder if that is why Ashley hasn't been sick". I didn't say it, but I smiled to myself because I am convinced that the BF has definitely played a role in giving Ashley a healthy start in life.
I'm glad there are Peds out there that recognize this. Ashley's Ped was very supportive of BF and had wonderful advice. I will really miss her. Ashley is goign to her new Ped next Friday.
