zdk753 wrote: Me & the kids were outside when my neighbor walked by w/ her corgi. She was coming over to tell me about the little girl that was bitten by the pit bull a couple of days ago not realizing it was mine. Anyways Kailynn has played w/ this dog I couldn't tell you how many times. She was terrified of him. She screamed bloody murder & kept trying to climb on top of the car to get away from him. My neighbor tried to coax her into just letting him sniff her. She would have none of it. She just kept screaming & saying "he's going to bite me". So as of right now my baby is terrified of dogs.

luvmykids replied: sad.gif Poor baby. I don't blame her for being terrified right now, hopefully it will get better with time. hug.gif How did your neighbor hear about it?

CantWait replied: sad.gif bawling.gif Poor baby girl. How horrible is that.

zdk753 replied:
Me neither. When I was about her age I witnessed another girl get attacked by a german shepard. Just seeing that made me terrified of all dogs. I'm still leery of new dogs, but not near as bad as I was. It is just so heartbreaking to see her act like that esp. w/ one that she has played w/ before.

My neighbor's hubby is a fireman. They always have their scanner on so they heard the call go out. We live in a small town so they figured I might know who it was. Unfortunatly I did.

luvmykids replied: hug.gif hug.gif Again, I'm so sorry for her! sad.gif

JP&KJMOM replied: I am so sorry. hug.gif She will probably be afraid of dogs for the rest of her life. My ds was not bitten but one jumped on him and knocked him down several years ago and he is deathly afraid of dogs now. I hate it but soon we are going to get him one that is small and let him get use to it and raise it himself. Hopefully that will get him over his fear of them.

Is she feeling ok with the stitches?

BAC'sMom replied: hug.gif sorry to hear that.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: hug.gif Poor sweety girl!

aspenblue1 replied: hug.gif Poor girl.

Kaitlin'smom replied: not supprised, its still very fresh in her mind. I hope it will fade in time. Poor girl how awful.

TheOaf66 replied: yeah, it will probably take awhile before she is able to be friendly with a dog again, it will come in time

holley79 replied: I'm sorry that she is so terrified right now. Give her a bit of time then try and reintroduce her to a very friendly dog. Are there any dogs that she loved before being bitten? maybe that could help her.

zdk753 replied:
They don't seem to be bothering her. I'm actually surprised. I figured she would be picking at them or they would be itching by now. I did have to take her back to the e.r. The wound on her cheek is infected. Now she gets to take 2 antibiotics.

MyLuvBugs replied: Oh poor thing! hug.gif hug.gif Don't let her give up on all doggies though, but she'll need some time to recoop. KWIM? I hope she gets over this. hug.gif hug.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: hug.gif hug.gif Poor girl. I hope she's able to get over it as she gets older.

ashtonsmama replied: How scary, I'm so sorry!

redchief replied: Man! Poor little girl. The reaction to the dog is VERY normal, BTW. I can't say I blame her.
