I had an accident this morning

Luckily I wasn't holding either of the kids, but I slipped down our stairs this morning! I was holding three water glasses (stacked) in one hand and a plastic water bottle in the other. We have a plant on top of a ledge at the top of our stairs, so I leaned over a bit to use the remaining water in the glasses to water my plant. But my foot slipped and down I went. I caught myself, landed on my tush and my elbow. I got up thinking I had maybe fractured my elblow...but I could move it. It just felt a bit bruised. After several minutes, shaking myself off, I noticed blood coming from the elbow and lifted my sleeve to find a gash about an inch wide and 1/2 inch deep! Not much blood, but wow, it was past the muscle! So I called DH to come home and he took me to Urgent Care. Two hours later, I got 4 stitches inside and I think 1-2 on the outside. I had x-rays done and I have to go into the city to see a hand specialist! They said I niqued the tendon, but no fracture. So hopefully no surgery, but if I do need one, we will have to cancel our trip to CA this next week (the one we've been planning for about 5 months). Ughhhhhhhhhhh! I can't believe this happened, but like I said before, glad I wasn't holding the kids...could have been much worse. I'll keep you all posted. So far I don't have much pain. I think the tetanus shot I got in my upper arm hurts more then the actual cut!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Thanks everyone! I'm in a bit of pain, but it's not too bad. Advil is helping! I have an appt to see a hand specialist tomorrow, so we will see if I need surgery or not. My x-rays looked promising, but having a second opinion from a specialist may be another story.

Lisa, thanks for the offer...Rich is going to drive me and the boys to Denver for the appt...he REALLY wants to take me for some reason. He can keep the boys busy while I'm getting checked out. I think he will actually enjoy a little time off to spend with them, but thanks!
