I know it was an accident...

mummy2girls wrote: but i still had to walk away from marcus before I snapped. I was dropping my timesheets off at the agency and then i came back home. Marcus was home putting jenna to bed. I get home and marcus is on the couch. He walks up to me and says you are such an understanding forgiving wife I love you. Then he took my hand and says shelly come here. So he leads me up to our room and points to a dent in the wall. Just a bit bigger then a baseball dent. he then says i was throwing Jenna on the bed and I threw her to far and the back of her head hit the wall. WTF!!!! Just a background... before bed marcus does tricks with jenna is what she calls it. he will throw her on teh bed, roll of the bed as if they are falling off on by accident, holds her above the bed and drops her, etc etc etc. Jenna LOVES it and i guess thats what marcus's dad did with him and his sister when they were that age too. Anyways... She seemed fine he said as she got up didnt cry and wanted more tricks. he even called his mom to make sure everything was ok. We woke her up about an hour after she fell asleep and she woke up fine. It took a minute or 2 but thats because she is a deep sleeper. She woke up fine this morninga nd has no bump. I know it was an accident but man was i ticked. My mommy instinct came out and i had to walk away before i yelled. Coomon reaction i guess. So i banned the throwing on the bed trick. He felt like the worst step dad because of that. Man what a night!

edited to say this just so you know how it happened or could cause that dent:
well what marcus told me is that he was standing at the end of the bed, tossed her on the bed and she landed on her feet a bit and by accident or however it happened she kinda catapulted her self back more...

cameragirl21 replied: omg, he threw her against the wall hard enough to make a dent? Either her head is made of steel or your walls are made of paper.
Years ago when I was still a babysitting teen, I was playing with a 3 year old girl, a game she loved where I would get on my back (on the couch) and put my legs straight up at a 90 degree angle and put her on her tummy on my feet and swing her back and forth, she loved it, it was her fave game. One time when I did that, I set her down on the floor after and she fell back into the very sharp, pointy end table and she fell hard, I screamed. She was fine though, there was just a tiny red dot on the back of her head and she was ready to go for more but I was too shaken up to play like that anymore that day. I was stunned by how unhurt she was because just the noise from her fall was deafening. On that day I became 100% sure that there is a God. happy.gif
Incidentally, she was a neurologist's daughter...even though she was fine when the parents got home, I begged her dad to check her out thoroughly but he saw her running around and having a blast and said she's just a tough kid.

boyohboyohboy replied: I totally agree that playful wresting shouldnt cause a dent in the wall, unless you live in some strange house with very very thin dry wall only for walls and no wood..

i hope she is ok

luvbug00 replied: He made a dent in the wall by playing?? huh.gif
I'm surprised that he let her go to sleep afterward, they tell you to stay up after a head bonk.
I have nothing further to say about this except dry.gif

mummy2girls replied:
actully now doctors have said its ok to let them sleep just wake them up periodically. jenna hit her head falling out of a cart and she the er doc i saw said teh same thing

stella6979 replied: From what I've heard about Marcus he seems like a great guy and great to Jenna so I wouldn't be to hard on him. She's a kid and accidents happen. I'd even still let him do his nightime routine, just ask him to be more careful.
Glad to hear she's ok though. hug.gif

mckayleesmom replied: You live in a apartment right Shelly? Walls in apartments are pretty thin.....actually even in some houses.

lovemy2 replied:
I agree - and sometimes apartment walls are not the best constructed walls around - the ones we had in our apt in college we were able to put a fist through with no effort or mark on our hand at all....how I know that - well that's another story laugh.gif

mummy2girls replied:
nope townhouse.. a old one though

MommyToAshley replied: Oh gosh, how scary!! She would have had to hit hard to make a dent in the wall... I am so glad she is ok.

msoulz replied: Men play rough - too rough sometimes for a mom's taste. I am sure the dad's on the board could chime in here with thier own stories about us getting on them about such things. Even my 9 year old son plays too rough sometimes with my daughter. But he learns.

The fact that he immediately told you what happened means a lot. That should NEVER happen again.

Calimama replied: Wow. He's lucky she wasn't injured. To hit hard enough to make a dent is crazy. Glad she's okay!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: O I would have been so upset! But I know sometimes playtime can get a little too crazy wacko.gif so as long as he knows now that she can bounce too hard ans since Jenna is OK and was asking for more play-lesson learned!

lisar replied: As long as it was an accident. Accidents happen. And men do play a little rough sometimes for my taste, but thats men. Just tell him to be more careful

MoonMama replied: Wow! ohmy.gif I'm just glad she wasn't hurt, she had to have hit HARD. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OMG how scary!!! He is such a good man he could have kept that from you but he chose to be honest and tell you what happened. Bless his heart hug.gif hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Seriously? It's better that she hit that drywall than the concrete floor! Drywall is not that solid and our heads are hard! laugh.gif Maddie fell off her bed yesterday and landed on the hardwood floor. I asked her if it dented the floor. happy.gif She is fine and Jenna is, too. More damage was done to the wall. wink.gif More than likely this won't be the first time it happens. hug.gif

Sweet of him to fess up, though. I bet he felt awful. sad.gif

mummy2girls replied:
oh he did and still does. he was on the verdge of crying last night!
