I need help QUICKLY!! - MAjor problem!!!

Boys r us wrote: I'm sitting here doubled over crying..I can barely walk I'm in so much pain. I don't think that there is anything wrong with the pregnancy i.e. miscarrying, I think that with having the flu all week and not getting much fluids on top of being pregnant and already having constipation problems that the lack of fluids has just compounded it. But I think I'm just EXTREMELY constipated. My stomach is so sore to even touch it feels like I've been punched 20 times and when I walk or move I get horrible pains on my right side. I can't remember the last time that I did #2.

I know this probably sounds kind of funny..but I can't stress how much pain I'm in right now, I really am sitting here crying. Rick is gone to get me some prune juice but is there ANYTHING ANYTHING AT ALL that I can do to get some immediete relief that would be safe for baby too?

PrairieMom replied: I would call your Dr. to see what they recommend. I think there is a stool softener you can take, but I'm not sure. Maybe a warm bath to relax things and a walk to get things movin?
Hope you feel better soon. hug.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: I started having contractions when I was 38 weeks because I was dehydrated. They put me on a IV, and soon the contractions stopped. You said you've been sick with the flu, and I'm thinking it's a combination of dehydration & constipation. The doctor in the L & D room told me that dehydration will cause contractions, and it's very important to drink lots of fluids when you are pg.

I would talk to your doctor, you may need an IV like I did. And the more water you drink, the less constipated you'll be.

Kaitlin'smom replied: can you just start chugging water? and tons of it. I think MOM (milk of mag) is safe. But call the doc if the prune jucie does not help

kimberley replied: use a suppository and have a warm bath. it will work in a flash and give you much needed relief. hope you feel better soon. hug.gif

moped replied: Please go see the dr now! Dehydration is not good for you (PG)

Please let usknow!!!!!!

Boys r us replied: Rick just got back with the prune juice, but before I could take it I got sick(throwing up) and peed my pants while I was doing so..go ahead and laugh at that, I am! I'm going to trying chugging some prune juice now(pray it stays down) and take a hot bath and also chug a ton of water.

Kaitlin'smom replied: you still might need to go in for an IV. I would still put a call into your doctor.

Nina J replied: I would call your Dr. Maybe they can give you an enema?

You should go see a doctor anyway, because it's not good to be dehydrated. Like everyone has said, they might want to put you on an IV.

Hope you will get some relief soon. I also agree with putting a call in to your doctor.

mckayleesmom replied: I agree with going to the ER or the doctor...maybe they can give you an enema to get some relief.

Buckles&Chains replied: I hope you're feeling some relief now... and I agree, if the pain is that bad then you should be checked out.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I hope the prune juice, and water helped. I also hoped you got some relief from the pain with the hot bath.

I think it is safe to say that most people have BTDT with puke.gif and peeing in their pants. Nothing to be ashamed of. Besides I would rather clean up the pee than the puke.gif blush.gif

HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER!!! hug.gif

ilovemybaby replied: That sounds real bad. I agree on calling a doctor. Or go to the ED.
I had constipation that caused a fissure with lots of bleeding when I was 26 weeks pregnant and the hospital gave me some liquid to mix in with fluids. It is called Lactulose. If it's really bad they may have to do something straight away though.

My2Beauties replied: I think you can take MOM too or a suppository (sp?) to make you go. I agree, just call the doc at least to see if they think you should go on to the ER for some IV fluids, better to be safe than sorry.

PrairieMom replied: i was just going to post to see if there was an update. How ya feeling?

kimberley replied: she updated here
