I think I might have an ovarian cyst :(

I'm now 16 DPO, no AF and still got a BFN. I posted on a different post that I had been having a lot of symptoms and I didn't know what was going on with me. Well, I was on a different TTC board and someone said something about having an ovarian cyst and how the symptoms can mimick pregnancy symptoms. I did some research online and found out that they can cause you to have a missed or delayed period, lower back pain, sore bb's, nausousness or vomiting. I really think I might have this. My lower back has been killing me and I've had really sore bb's and nipples. Also, about a week ago, I told my sister that if I'm not PG this cycle then I need to go to the doctor and get checked for cysts because I had been having sharp pains in one of my ovaries. However, at the time, I had no idea that it could cause you not to have AF.
I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow and make an appt. but I read that they can want a person to go on birth control pills so they won't ovulate for awhile. I would not be happy about that, obviously, since we are TTC. Has anyone here ever had an ovarian cyst? What did they do about it?
mom2my2cuties replied: Everyone gets ovarian cysts just before ovulation from the egg getting ready to release. - however I get painful and almost debilitating ovarian cysts frequently. However mine tend to more mimick appendicitis.
Most of the time - if you go to the doctor they will pop you on birth control for it. ER gives out hydrocodone like candy for this. And sometimes (they were concerned about this with mine) they have to surgically rupture the cyst. Mine have gotten as large as a chicken egg.
coasterqueen replied: I struggled with ovarian cysts from the time I was 13 until I had my first kid. I was bcp all the way up until we conceived Kylie. My doc was afraid I'd have problems when I went off them, but I got lucky and didn't.
I'd have a talk with your doc. See what they say. There may be ways to monitor it while you are TTC.
Christie replied: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the doctor says it's okay to keep TTC. Next month will be our 5th cycle of TTC and I am getting really impatient already so I would be so sad if I had to put everything on hold. I have never had an ovarian cyst in my entire life and it had to happen when DH and I started TTC. Of course, I'm not 100% sure it's a cyst yet, but I just can't imagine what else it would be. If I weren't having really bad lower back pain and sore bb's, I would just have figured that I didn't ovulate this month. I guess I will find out soon.
ashtonsmama replied: Bummer! I'm so sorry! KUP.
2BMom replied: I have had 2 ovarian cysts removed. When I got the 3rd one that was causing alot of pain they put me on the Depo shot so that I would not ovulate.
Go see your doctor to find out what is going on.
Christie replied:
Thank you for the info guys I have an appt on Wednesday with my doctor so I will let you know how that goes
2BMom replied:
GOOD LUCK!
mom2my2cuties replied: Will cross my fingers for you
We also have our first appointment to make sure the "goods" are all in order on Wed morning.
Christie replied: Thank You I hope everything goes well with your appt. also
mom2my2cuties replied: It should be - I thank God that my husband and I have never had any real problems concieving. But because of my depo shot - they just want to make sure that my body is trying to get back in a groove.
CantWait replied: I hope everything goes well for you. IMHO, I think maybe you're so worried and you would like to conceive so much right now, that you're working yourself up.....best of luck sweetie.
