I thought Ashley was tall...
MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley's team played this team today that almost everyone on the team was twice their size. The teams are 1st and 2nd graders, and Ashley is pretty tall for a first grader and often is mistaken for a second grader. But, look how much taller most of the girls on the other team were... (Ashley is the one kicking the ball)
ETA: I forgot to say, they tied the game 0-0.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW!!
Calimama replied: Holy cow, that girl eats her veggies.
paradisemommy replied: holy moly what in the heck are they feeding that child?
MommyToAshley replied: It wasn't just that girl. Here's another one that shows how tall the girls are:
MommyToAshley replied: And another of the girls (the girl in the green is a head taller than Ashley when she stands next to her, the angle is a little deceptive)
Calimama replied: Wow.. maybe whatever it is that's making them grow is in their school lunches.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Wow they are tall! But they all look so cute!
jacobsmama replied: wow!!
My brother is 13 and plays 7th grade football. they just played a team last night who was HUGE compared to them!!! it is crazy how different they were!
A&A'smommy replied: WOW is all I can say!!
sparkys2boys replied: Wow is right.. I am thinking it more then the veggies
grandma replied: How old are those girls? OMG!
MommyToAshley replied: First and second graders (so 6-8 yrs old)
grandma replied: I've always thought Ashley looked tall, but that other girl is ger-normous!
MommyToAshley replied: Although Ashley is the youngest in her class, she's also the tallest. The girls in the picture (on the same team as Ashley) are a grade higher (second grade).. just as a reference. So, these girls on the other team were just really tall. There were a couple on their team about the same size as Ashley, but the rest were super tall.
jem0622 replied: Nathan is nearly 5 ft tall and he is 8.5 yrs old, so I can believe it!
lisar replied: Lexi is tall for her age also.
But Ashley looks so cute playing
Maddie&EthansMom replied: How tall are you Dee Dee?
Maddie is tall, too. I'm 5'8" and DH is 6'2". Ethan is a little bitty thing. I'm thinking he might end up being like the guys in my side of the family. I'm the tallest in my family.
Maddie isn't the tallest in her class, though. But I can see that see is starting to pass up most of her friends. She comes to the top of my chest and I'm not exactly short. It is scaring me.
The contrast in the girls height is interesting from school to school or town to town even. There was a town near where I grew up and all the girls were twice our size when we played them in sports.
Crystalina replied: Yep, they are pretty tall for their ages. Geesh!
MommyToAshley replied: I am 5'7" and DH is 6'2" -- almost the same as you. Ashley was 48" last fall when we went to the doc, but I know she's gone through a growth spurt since then because her clothes from that season don't fit her now.
MommyToAshley replied: A lot of you bring up a good point. It is interesting how whole teams are taller than other teams in different school districts/cities. We had to travel 45 minutes to this game (it was at their home field). It does make you wonder if something more than genetics comes into play... it could be something environmental (water, school's milk source, etc). Or, it could just be a coincidence.
gr33n3y3z replied: Must be something in thier drinking water LOL
