I have never donated blood because I'm terrified of needles and blood freaks me out.. Terrible excuse I know.. someday I will try and conquer my fear!!

The first and last time I tried to donate they rejected me because I didn't have enough iron in my blood. So they told me to load up on the iron before the next time. I will try again!

I am type A+ which is pretty common, not nearly as exotic as the O thing!!

My2Beauties replied: I am O+ as is DH, so are both the kiddos Anyways...that's interesting Rocky. I hadn't even heard of this.

I am freaked out by needles big time so I don't give blood. DH does quite often though. I used to not even weigh enough to give blood pre-Aubrey That was my excuse then, seriously. Now that I weigh enough, I'm just a fraidy cat!

I've been wanting to but haven't gotten up the courage yet - I've been hoping that they'd have another blood drive in my town soon so I could try.

TrulyBlessed replied: I am not a smart cookie. I could not understand anything that you quoted. I know I am O negative and have the RH factor. I don't give blood because I hate needles. I'm having a hard time sleeping tonight because I have to have my rhogam shot tomorrow and I want to cry.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I don't like needles but they're not what really bother me - I can get a shot without too much fuss. But I hate getting blood drawn - I always feel faint and I just can't stand the thought and the feeling of all that blood being pulled out of me. And that's just a little vial... I've always been afraid that getting a pint taken out would just be too much for me to handle.
