I totally forgot to update you on Logan
MyBrownEyedBoy wrote: His surgery was 5 weeks ago and he has had none of the developmental delays I was so afraid of. He is off all meds except half a baby aspirin a day to prevent blood clots. He is learning to walk and stand. At the same time. He hasn't really stood by himself for extended periods of time because the minute he gets his balance he is taking steps. So far we've gotten up to 5 or 6 in a row. Then he seems to realize that he is doing something different and just sits down. Even though he isn't walking everywhere yet, he is climbing everything in sight. The couch, the loveseat, chairs, the guinea pig cage stand, you name it, he's tried to climb it. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I've watched adults recovering from open heart surgery and rarely have I seen one do it as fast as Logan. He went through a double valve replacement and you would never know it unless you saw the scar on his chest. He truly inspires me. I have nothing to complain about comparatively. All in all, he is doing wonderfully. If any of you have specific questions I would love to try and answer them. Thanks for letting me brag on my boy.
C&K*s Mommie replied: BRAG, BRAG, & BRAG on.... he is well worth every moment and word that you can say about him! 's for him, and his great recovery. What is the outlook for him now?? I guess I could answer my own ?? by the example of what he is doing now. He will be better than great, right??
WOOOOHOOOO's for Logan!!!!
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: His outlook is great. We will have to continue to closely monitor him because as he grows the valve won't and it will eventually have to be replaced. But that is 4-7 years from now I think. So, for now, we are just enjoying our healthy boy.

holley79 replied: Kelly that is wonderful news. I use to give handicapped riding lessons. I truely enjoyed watching each and everyone one of my "kids". When I had my car accident one of my students came to visit me. The first thing out of her mouth was:
"Ms Holley, you never allowed us to give up even though there were many times we wanted to. This is just a hurdle for you and you will get over it. Don't forget to practice what you preach."
That is something that always stuck with me. Kids are just truly amazing and should be such an inspiration to us all.
Great big to you and Logan.

I know that kids recover much quicker than adults, but it sounds like Logan is doing EXCEPTIONAL in his case!!! He sounds like a normal toddler to me!!
