I want POWER

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! All of us huddled together to sleep last night and poor Kylie wouldn't even get out of bed this morning she was so cold.

Since our sitter has no heat and I have board members coming in today Ryan stayed home with the girls. I actually feel sorry for him because Kylie is acting like a BRAT with all this going on, but I understand her pain, we are all a little annoyed.

I can't work out. I've eat crap for the last few days because that's all we can eat. A lot of the restaurants are closed w/either no power or damaged and the ones open are PACKED with people. I ended up getting a donut at the gas station this morning because the line at McD's was out of this world.

It took me 45 minutes to get to work when it only takes 10 minutes because of no stoplights in one major area of my drive.

I never knew exactly how reliant we are on power til you go through this. Dh said "it's like camping mom". I replied with "heck, no it's not. I at least get a warm shower with camping."

We are hearing on the radio it could be tomorrow or Thursday before we get our power back. I'm really hoping it happens today. There has been looting going on so that had Dh and I freaked out last night. Even though we live in the country we were freaked and my boss who lives down the road from us even had us freaked about that.

We lost everything in our fridge and freezer too.

Send some vibes this way please! Not only for me, who would love power, but for all our friends and those we don't even know who have nothing now.

jcc64 replied: That totally sucks, Karen! Btdt a few months back with a wicked snow storm that took down power lines and blew several transformers. We were w/o power AND water for 4 days- and it's pretty cold here in upstate NY in January! We could see our breath inside the house. It was brutal- so I feel your pain. Hope they get it back on for you guys soon!

Thanks. Yes, we did already buy all the stuff for the party. So that's all gone. My mom bought a bunch of stuff to make for the party too and she lost everything as well. We hope to get our power back SOON so we can get shopping again for the party. This party is turning into a real huge expense we didn't bargain for. If we didn't have company coming from out of town with airline tickets purchased already we'd probably cancel.
